Meet this gentleman while watching the sun come up on the Ganges - he gave me the hard sell about his boating skills and how he would give me the best price, not the tourist price, but his story was both funny and semi-original, so I took a ride with him. His boating skills were great and he was patience with me so I could take pictures - gotta love that!

Just off a busy shopping street in North Vancouver is a small park that I've driven and walked past so many times and always wanted to take a look. So yesterday, between rain showers, I went to the park with my camera. This is a meditation circle in which people sit on the ground and meditate, with the bright red statues of monks in a circle. I thought the red was too glaring for portraying the peaceful feeling of meditation, so converted it to mono.
My choice for member for January.
