More Adirondack beauty. This is from my drone but only about 80 feet high.

I hope everyone enjoys this image! :D

Free time on a works trip last year. I was going to visit this place solo but was quite happy to have somebody from work show me around. Especially when we bumped into local hunters. They were a friendly bunch but i was completely unaware there would be people with rifles and crossbows looking for deer. I was hoping we'd get to the trail an hour before sunrise but i'm glad we waited for a bit of light now!

Ogunquit, ME. Quintessential Perkins Cove. Always pretty.

The Perkin Warbeck; named after the man who claimed to be the rightful heir to the throne of England and, in 1497, entered Taunton with an army of 8,000. Perkin Warbeck was cross-examined by King Henry VII, in Taunton Castle, and eventually executed.

A test shot with my new "used" 16mm Sony lens.

I know its not the best of lenses but it does make the a6300 small enough to go in a pocket. I can live with deficiencies to gain the convenience. I have the 18-105mm and its a monster on this small camera - not always what you need in the street.

A fine drop of beer - The Doom Bar is a sandbar at the mouth of the estuary of the River Camel, where it meets the Celtic Sea on the north coast of Cornwall, England.

Until the twentieth century, access to Padstow's harbour was via a narrow channel between the Doom Bar and the cliffs at Stepper Point, a difficult passage for sailing ships to navigate, especially in north-westerly gales when the cliffs would cut off the wind. Many ships were wrecked on the Doom Bar.

A tribute to Craig Slawson Biological Recorder for Staffordshire who passed away 12-02-2020 . This man used to help me Identify my bugs, logged my finds and enabled me to join the Fungi Group. Another person I shall miss. My sympathy goes to his wife.

Taken on a morning out with Craig and a group. Perkins Stafford Uk 11th August 2013. He was several years younger than me.younger than me.

Special:

- Many people believe the VOLVO 244 and 245 with Volkswagen D24-engine was VOLVO’s first diesel car, but actually it wasn’t.

- In 1965 the Månson-company had the idea to replace the B18-engine of the P210 DUETT with a 4-cilinder Perkins diesel-engine and try to sell them in series, needed for the heavy work like quarries, mining industry or forestry.

- Replacing the B18-engine with a Perkins-diesel wasn't easy. The transmission needed adjustments, the exhaust needed modifications, engine mounts and supports were also different and many other modications needed to be done before the engine was installed properly.

- The engine itself wasn’t very cheap so it was an expensive job. So the Perkins-project on the DUETT wasn’t a success.

- Malte Månson tried to convince Volvo to use a Perkins diesel-engine in the VOLVO 144 but that project was stopped after just one 144 Diesel-engined prototype.

- The diesel-equipped DUETT was officially not sold by VOLVO but VOLVO didn’t forbid Malte Månson AB to sell the DUETT’s with the Perkins-diesels.

- This P210 Diesel is the only one in The Netherlands and it is believed that it is the only one in the world with an original Perkins 4.108 Diesel engine. Other restored DUETT’s have different engines, like Renault- or BMW-diesels.

- The name DUETT stands for use at work as for leisure time, two cars in one: duet.

Two days after taking photo - sign has now gone - presumably because of pending modernisation of the entire building.
