To be or not to be?
Happy Caturday!
Thank you all for visits, favs and comments, it's greatly appreciated!
Two or three weeks ago I put a photo into the Macro Mondays group that I called 'Staying Alive' where I used this 50 pence coin in a different composition. Well after I'd finished shooting that image I was about to clear up the patio table where I'd taken that shot when I noticed this bee on the ground. And you'll know what I mean when I say that you sometimes see bees on the ground that are very sluggish and almost unresponsive. This was one such bee. The gears started to whirl in my brain and I thought - Why not! So I gathered it up on a piece of cardboard and gently nudged it onto my coin and took a couple of quick shots. I then put him gently back onto the ground and let him bee...
So before anyone reports me, no bees were harmed in the making of this image!

"The Old Reliable" passes Pence Tower northbound in 1981. The Missouri Pacific / Louisville & Nashville crosses the former NYC Kankakee Belt line here. The railroads are still here, but the tower is long gone. November 1981.
It was cooler (60's) & overcast yesterday but blue skies opened up as we arrived at the river wildflowers. Even so - we saw only 3 big butterflies and a scattering of skippers. No Monarchs though I'm still reading reports of many heading South. It looks like things are wrapping up but I hope you'll enjoy my trove of photos as our days cool.
Late start today - like everyone we were up late ;-) We are very thankful to the Lord today. We pray that He will continue to heal our land as President Trump & VP Pence take office this winter - and start making America great again. I believe Trump loves this country and will be the President for all the people. He never sleeps so it will be a roller-coaster ride!
Also: a dear friend is in open-heart surgery today - if you have a moment we would so appreciate it if you say a prayer for him.

The British decimal two pence coin (often shortened to 2p in writing and speech) is a denomination of sterling coinage equalling 2⁄100 of a pound. Since the coin's introduction on 15 February 1971, the year British currency was decimalised, its obverse has featured four profiles of Queen Elizabeth II. In 2008 the design on its reverse changed from the original depiction of a plume of ostrich feathers with a coronet to a segment of the Royal Shield.
A southbound Union Pacific coal train swings through the crossovers and clatters across the Conrail crossing guarded by Pence Tower at Momence, Illinois, on September 8, 1990. This tower formerly protected the crossing of New York Central (Conrail) and Chicago & Eastern Illinois/Missouri Pacific (UP).
On 6 May 1954, 25-year old medical student Roger Bannister broke the 4 minute mile barrier, celebrated by this 50p issue in 2004. on the 50th anniversary. His time of 3mins 59.4 seconds was achieved at the Iffley Road track in Oxford and watched by around 3000 spectators.

So VP Pence was out Vandenberg last week touting their Space Command and Space Force ideas which reminded me of a somewhat disturbing incident from last March.
These two Exoatmospheric Kill Vehicles (EKV's) were launched in a secret, un-announced event this spring. We are usually given month's notice and then properly close down beaches and highways, so this in itself was very unusual.
If I ever look out my window and see 10 or more of these contrails I'll know to kiss my ass good-bye as we've got incoming.
$ 300 billion spent so far on this 'bullet hit's bullet' idea, with the next 6 billion dollar tranche just being authorized .......
for the Macro Mondays challenge "Redux" (December 26th 2016)
Happy Boxing Day Macro Monday to everyone!
I chose to revisit the challenge of May 23rd - "Smaller than a coin"
My offering was removed from the group pool! It had been set before, in January 2015. But this time, in May I didn't pause to read the instructions carefully - and I didn't include the actual coin in my shot - just in my 'proof of size' photo in the comment field. So I thought I would correct my mistake, and offer a shot that I hope does meet with the rules of the challenge this time ;o)
I chose a UK 5 pence coin - which is about 2.5cm in diameter - and balanced a tiny 7mm crystal bead on it.
the original instructions:
"Dig deep into your pockets, purses, or piggy banks because this week you’re going to need a coin. The coin has to be officially used by a country (any country) for everyday transactions. It can be any denomination but it has to be a coin - no paper currency allowed. Next you’ll need to find something else, something smaller than your coin of choice, but not another coin. (I don’t want to see just coins.) Then you’ll take a picture of both items together".

L-R, top to bottom: Kellyanne Conway, Mike Pence, Donald Trump, Sean Spicer, Stephen Miller, Stephen Bannon, Michael Flynn (resigned), and Reince Priebus.
There are many more but this has been my protest sign in the marches I've taken part in. I've heard Julia Hahn is part of the team now, a recruit from Breitbart.
Feel free to take this and use it as you like.
I've been sitting on my hands and not posting political statements to Flickr or my blog but the time has come for any of us who are seriously worried to get to work in any way we can to save our country.
I've never stopped taking pictures even though my output is low, I'm simply so upset about what's happening in my country to focus on much else and I've been tossing most of the images I take. Being upset has a terrible affect on one's creative output although for some it can stimulate it. For me it's led to a lot of sleepless nights.

Our second park, Pench.
An impeccable place to walk down the memory lanes of your childhood days of the famous story ‘The Jungle Book’.
In the heart of India, Madhya Pradesh, Pench National Park is located in the districts of Seoni and Chhindwara. Named after the pristine River Pence which flows through the park, Pench National Park is one of the most popular wildlife reserves in India. The park also has its mention in the famous story of 1894, ‘The Jungle Book’, penned down by the renowned English Author Rudyard Kipling. The story was worldwide applauded, and hence, the national park became one of the popular national parks in the world in the 1970s and also a prominent tourist attraction in India. Since then, every year oodles of wildlife buffs flock to this place just to spot the famous characters of the book, Akela (The Indian Wolf), Raksha (the female Wolf), Baloo (Sloth Bear), and the vicious Shere Khan (Royal Bengal Tiger).
Sprawls over a massive area of 758 sq km, including the core area, Pench National Park has a rich wildlife which proffers visitors an opportunity to indulge into one of the finest wildlife experiences in India. Since its inception in 1965 as a wildlife sanctuary, the park has serving as the cosy nest of numerous wild creatures including the Royal Bengal tiger, jackal, peafowl, wild dog, wild boar, sloth bear, Indian leopard, fox, striped hyena, monkey, gaur, barking deer, four-horned antelope, Indian wolf, and more such enthralling species. However, later in the year 1975 and 1992, the sanctuary got the recognition of national park and tiger reserve, respectively.
Gray langur (Semnopithecus), also called Hanuman langur is a genus of Old World monkeys native to the Indian subcontinent. Traditionally only one species Semnopithecus entellus was recognized, but since about 2001 additional species have been recognized. The taxonomy has been in flux, but currently eight species are recognized.

Macro Mondays, Queen
Not very inspired by the theme. I did my home work in a hurry at the last moment…
