Another day, another waterfall! Pearson’s falls was an easy hike for our two year old grandson. Pay $5 per person and you have restrooms at the beginning and trash recepticals at the end. It is located just outside Saluda, North Carolina.
This fence and its shadow were caught by my Canon for Flckr Friday group. I'll do something out of the ordinary and will bid you a Happy Fence Sunday. Enjoy this finally spring day friends. Thank you for your visit :)

Pamela Easton and Lydia Pearson are the fashion designers behind the celebrated label Easton Pearson.
'Vibrant, detailed patterns feature heavily in my paintings and with this one I had an eminent catalogue of textiles to draw from. I had access to their Brisbane workshop and their look-books spanning the last 27 years, so I could immerse myself in their collection. Pam and Lydia work together closely and the clothes they make reflect this personal relationship. I hope to represent something of this synthesis in their creative partnership. Through our discussions we agreed that they should be handling and interacting with the textiles. I've painted them in the midst of a swirling mass of their fabulous, bold designs', says Rohan.
Born in Beaudesert, Queensland in 1990, this is Rohan's first time in the Archibald Prize.

In stark contrast, Lake Pearson was choppy in comparison to Lake Lyndon, hence no reflections of value.
Ōpōrea is the traditional Māori name for Lake Pearson. It is also known as Moanarua. It is a moderate sized highland lake, situated in the upper Waimakariri River catchment. Traditionally this lake was valued among local Māori as a mahinga kai (food bowl) site.

While working through my photo files, I ran across this photo taken at Pearson Falls in Saluda, NC a few years ago. As I was looking at these older photos, I was amazed at the poor quality of so many of them. So at least it shows I'm improving I a bit over time, which is much of the fun of photography...there's always something to learn. But between football games, I thought I'd post this one. Can't wait for some cooler weather to come back.

In the spring of 2000, GWR Collet 0-6-0 3205 visited the Llangollen Railway from the South Devon Rly and was used on the railways spring gala and several charters.
She is pictured here passing Pearsons Farm at Garth-y dwr with a authentic looking train which included a box van at the rear, the 15:00 from Llangollen to Carrog.

Lake Pearson, Canterbury, New Zealand
After we left our stunning spot in the Mackenzie Basin we headed to Christchurch for a couple of nights on our camper van trip around the South Island. After a couple of days of the big city we headed back out into the mountains to continue our trip.
We headed to a place we stayed a few years ago that we really liked: Lake Pearson. There is a DOC campsite right on the shores of this lake and the views across the lake are stunning ( when it is not raining... which it was for most of our time here ).
I got up early in the morning when I realised the rain had stopped and took some shots of the stillness that only a mountain lake can provide.
