A few weeks ago, I visited one of my favourite spots, Cedar Creek! It was a beautiful evening to just sit near the creek and take in the subdued sunset. The remnants of the previous season were still evident, adding to the golden tones of the fading light. It was a beautiful moment of peace and calm during troubling times.

This 20 metres tall, 12 tons heavy sculpture made of steel, by the Chinese sculptor Yao Yuan, can be found in Grandcamp-Maisy (where it is quite eye-catching, let me tell you!). The piece, called La Paix dans le Monde (which means World Peace in French) was inaugurated in 2004 in memory of the 1944 D-Day landings in the area.

Stroll the river's edge at Peace of Serenity and there lies a beautiful little chapel in a meadow near the sea. Nearby a rowboat sits tied to the dock, rocking gently on the peaceful waters of this wonderful place.
