i wish i took this shot a bit more sharp..and maybe focused on the infant buds on top..i was sooo confused while taking this. spent an hour sitting with the camera, tripod and a little stool and this plant, but still wasnt satisfied

Agave vizcainoensis Black and White. I love the imprinted patterns on Agave leaves that remain from when the leaves were developing in their tight bud. I think the black and white helps bring that out a little better than color.

These open to a lovely four petalled yellow flower (sundrops / onethera spp.) I love the way the buds are topped with horn-like tips.

Taken for the subject of pattern for the monthly competetion.

heron = fewer newts in pond = more tadpoles = more frogs in a couple of years = happy heron...
