A Drinker Moth (Euthrix potatoria) caterpillar! This common moth is named after the caterpillar's supposed habit of drinking dew from the coarse grasses on which it feeds. I've posted loads of shots of these before, so apologies for yet another! I just loved the detail of this one's wrinkly blue body - hence the title!
This is a pottery town at Bangalore. Nice place to see how potters actually work. This is a set of small lamps which have just been made and hung out to dry...
I'm having these patterns printed on "chiffon" to make furoshiki. Most pics were taken at Orto Botanico REA, with many thanks to Regione Piemonte for so beautifully taking care, and a pair in my garden in July 2009. Pics were modified for pure fun with only the ACDSee that came with the computer... please enjoy and feel free to use them.

This small creek was backed up a bit at a small footbridge (it was just level with the bridge, three days later when I went back, the water had risen and the bridge was under water), and for whatever reason, the leaves and water formed this cool pattern behind it.

The best part? Look to the right -- there's a window with crazy mullions that MATCH THE GARAGE DOOR. How incredibly awesome is that? I don't know! My Awesome Meter doesn't go that high!
Happy Halloween! There's one week left so that means it is almost pumpkin time!
Here are some free patterns for your enjoyment :)
We made these a couple years back, I would say they are easy - medium difficulty
these dendritic patterns are the line of intersection between the ammonite's shell and its septa, which are the walls it built as it extended its shell. I've posted more information about it in our blog here:
