try use thicker paper
if you use the A4 paper like me, use the glue.
use the knife to cut the line not the scissors.:(
A 'defect' in the bark breaks the pattern, and I break mine by opening my eyes to things other than birds. To tell the truth, it's a lot better getting a picture of a bark that I find interesting when waiting for a bird to make it's appearance. :)
This morning when we were out on the safari, I'd forgotten to pocket my WALs and had to make do with the tele. This was at the banks of a fairly large water-body. One of our co-passengers in the jeep got bit by a leech, and we aptly nick-named the water-body 'Leech Lake'.
Song of the day - Naive, by French band Demians (off their album 'Building an Empire')
I'd like to thank all participants of the contest and congratulate them for their great entries. As an additional thank you I will be sending all of them a copy of my swallow diagrams. I'll be giving more infos and feedback to the entries on my blog shortly!
Reading the wikstenmade blog has inspired me to become a better seamstress. I tried to do the pattern maker justice. (^-^)
These patterns were created by placing my favourite vase on a shallow plate with ridges on it. The resulting wavy lines were most attractive and altered as the vase was turned. The glass sides of the vase are quite thick.
I really liked the patterns, depth and dimension the reeds and grasses hold. Someone looking at the photo the other day said they thought it would make an interesting jigsaw puzzle. I think it just might.
I got bored on a slow day at work so I took the opportunity to play around in the macro world, a world in which I am still quiet new and uncomfortable with. This was an old piece of wood that had been thrown in the trash can. The colors and pattern caught my eye so I grabbed the camera and took the shot.
I used a combination of beadline and boxes for this one. Here is a link to where I used this pattern www.flickr.com/photos/93814875@N08/8971531536/ Please let me know if you have seen this pattern anywhere else.
The Color Curves
A slight different & color version of the milky waves. I will like to know which one you like in both of these shots?
Abstract of colorful papers with delicate curves.
This pattern was drafted/draped on a large bust ElfDoll Sooah (old body style). NO seam allowances have been added; please make a muslin and test the fit before committing to the real fabric! See notes on pattern for fitting and construction advice.
Grid is spaced at precisely 1/4". Test print. If your image is off, use "Page Scaling" in Print Preview to nudge it up or down - start with 1% increments, it won't take much.
