There's a fitness path that runs around through Parry Sound, hugging the shore, and going through a little bit of forest. This is what was behind me.
One early Sunday morning my cousin, Trang, and I woke up at the crack of dawn to go on a shooting expedition. Our destination was the Mrytles Plantation home in St. Francisville, Louisiana. Before heading out to one of the most haunted homes in the U.S. we decided to make a short trip downtown Baton Rouge.
Instead of driving pass LSU campus to go downtown I wanted to take Trang down the River Road. It's a road I used to take to and from work everyday because there is no traffic and the drive is somewhat peaceful, but since this day I never took that road again. I'm not sure why either. I just never did.
Right before you get to the River Road from my house there is a short road you turn on called Gardere (which is the shot you see here). As soon as I crossed over the railroad tracks I hit the brakes on my car and put it into park. Trang looked at me like I was a mad woman, but when I pointed straight ahead and told her, "Do you see what I see? Get out of the car and take this shot. Hurry!" She grabbed her Nikon and immediately got out of the car. I rolled down my window and told her to get on the ground and think of a shot Brian took not too long ago. I didn't even have to explain. She knew exactly what I was thinking.
This shot is my favorite shot from that day. I don't take credit for taking the shot because I didn't, but I do take credit for inspiring Trang to risk her life by getting on the ground of a road to take such an awesome shot. And of course, I give credit to our friend, Brian, for such inspirations. I would have never thought to stop my car for this had I not seen a shot he recently took and shared on his Flickr.

No se pueden apreciar todos los detalles de las piezas debido a la falta de luz. Intentaré hacer mejores fotos cuando las monte.
I get that the PATH WTC station was always meant to be temporary, but there was a rugged industrial beauty about the temporary station.

Explozoom of a forest path in Reunion Island which gave me a curious impression of the famous "path to light" described by people who experienced a near death moment (or maybe just an hallucinogen trip!)
