On the path of life there is only one thing that is 100% sure. That on this path we are headed for the unknown. On one side it might seem dark and the other may seem bright, but the regardless of what lies ahead, it should forever be perceived as shining.

Or another perspective:

Light represents spirituality. Darkness represents corporeality. While they are opposites, people need to integrate them. According to Chasidic teachings the task of human beings in this world is to recognize that the world is like a forest. Essentially dark, with rays of light. And to make the light the focus of the world while progressing towards a place that is full of light.

Originally a semi-circular ringwork of c1106, square stone inner ward with four round corner towers built in 1270s. Hall added to E side c1298, and chapel projecting from SE tower possibly of same date. In early C14 outer walls with 4 towers and a small N gatehouse replaced the palisade, and the towers of the inner ward were raised. Large main S gatehouse was begun in earlier C14 but not complete when damaged in Glyndwr uprising 1403, finished 1422. Domestic additions c1485-1525.

This path, barely visible, was a street according to Google Maps. I was sweating by the time I managed to clear this path, without a machete.

I LOVE these shots. There was a random path to some more sculptures, so I ran in front of our group, and took pictures.
