Passiflora flowers resemble the tools used in Christ crucifixion. For this reason they are known in some languages as Passion Flower. Their colours vary from white to lilac.

Warren Krupsaw, an american botanical photograph lover, called his photos of these flowers "Passion Portraits".

Thank you for your kind visit. Have a wonderful and beautiful day! ❤️❤️❤️

Some of you may wonder why I called this Passion and Purple. The purple is self explanatory because of the color, but the passion part comes from one of the names for this butterfly. It has two common names, Gulf Fritillary and the Passion Butterfly, because like Monarch butterflies the Gulf Fritillary is plant specific when laying their eggs. The Monarch's is Milkweed and the Gulf Fritillary is the Passion Flower vine.

Hope you all have a good weekend flickr friends...

Thank you all for the comment's and favourites...

Nice viewed large...

the passion flower really is interesting flower. it actually has a bug-like appearance to attract butterflies and bees and this one sure has a lot of wonderful details on it.

decreased the aperture for this shot to show more details. i think it worked!

headaches still there but a little better. i gotta get rid of it soon with a lot of paper work coming i am doomed!!!

have a great day/night my friends!!!

If you put all your passion in some work, the result will make you smile.

Taken last month.

The weather's been pretty grotty over the weekend and I haven't had the chance to get out for a walk ..... maybe tomorrow.

Better viewed large and thank you for your favourites. :)
