The Church of Saint Mary is an Anglican parish church serving the town of Whitby in North Yorkshire England. It was founded around 1110, although its interior dates chiefly from the late 18th century. The church was designated a Grade I listed building on 23 February 1954. Wikipedia
Unfortunately this scene from the Birchen Coppice view point, has been taken over in resent years by tree growth. This is a shot I took of nine years ago where the view extended from the parish church of St Anne's in Bewdley across to what has been nicknamed the Pizza Hut in the West Midland Safari Park. Featured loco working off Safari Curve is 80072.
The parish church of Ashby St Ledgers revels in the unusual dedication of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St Leodegarius. The saint was a martyred 7th-century French bishop, and the village draws its name from Leodegarius (or St Leger as he is known in France). As for the church, it is a lovely building of local ironstone, constructed in the 14th and 15th centuries on the site of a 12th-century church.
Immediately behind the church is the historic manor house, for many years the home of the Catesby family. In a small half-timbered chamber over the gatehouse, the Gunpowder Plot a failed attempt to assassinate King James I of England during the opening of Parliament in November 1605, was planned by Robert Catesby, a devout English Catholic. The conspirators including the infamous Guy Fawkes, hoped to blow up the Protestant King James I and establish Catholic rule in England.
The inside of the cathedral-like church in Crediton. Crediton had been chosen as the location for the cathedral for Devon and Cornwall in the 10th century. In mid 11th century the Devon see was moved to Exeter and Crediton lost that previous importance. The church was rebuilt through the centuries and changed to its current layout in the 15th century.
It's really fascinating to me to think of a time when Crediton was so important.

Mary, Queen of the World Cathedral
1085 De la Cathedrale Street, Montreal
The Cathedral is the third largest church in Quebec and is Catholic denomination. It was built to replace the former St. Jacques Cathedral which had burned in 1852. Work began in 1875 it was completed in 1894 and consecrated as St. James Cathedral being the patron of the parish that it served.
However in 1955 at the request of Cardinal Paul-Emile Leger it was rededicated by Pope Benedict XV to Mary, Queen of the world. There have been a number of restoration works. In 2003 the enclosed porch and esplanade were restored. Another restoration in 2005 was the work done to Bishop Ignace Bourget’s statue on the outside of the building.
The Bishop’s Mortuary was completed in 1935, this was dedicated to Bishop Bourget where lays his tomb. The walls and floors are made from Italian marble.
The Chapel of the Assumption has a beautiful wood carved altar with gold leaf decoration. There is a wonderful painting of Our Lady painted in the 17th cent by a Spanish monk (unknown). The altar itself was discovered by Rololphe Messmer, an Austrian architect in France. He donated to the cathedral in 1994.
The Ciborium which covers the altar and is located under the dome was created in Rome in 1900 by Joseph-Arthur Vincent and is a reproduction of the famous one in St. Peter’s in Rome.
The Statues which atop the roof of the Cathedral represent the thirteen parishes of Montreal and again imitate those on St. Peter’s in Rome.
There are many treasures to see whilst there, there are many paintings, beautiful stained glass window and panels. The Great Organ was built by Casavant Freres and installed in 1893. The company also did the maintenance work in the 1950’s.
A truly wonderful Cathedral to visit.
The dark background is WATER under a heavily shaded bayou embankment!!! The pelican was on a post along the bayou but partly in sun. I just lined the bird up with the heavy shade. The exposure was taken off his white neck and helped to create the dark background too.

The Parish Church of Santa María de Alcoy is situated in the historic centre of Alcoy, in the Plaza de España. Neoclassical in style and built in the 18th century, its origins date back to the 13th century. The main façade is imposing and stands out for its neoclassical style façade with columns and pilasters, with two symmetrical bell towers flanking the façade. A large central rose window allows natural light to enter, while a large central rose window allows natural light to enter, while a large central rose window allows natural light to enter. There is a central dome over the transept, as well as side chapels between the buttresses. Its sober decoration is typical of the neoclassical period, while its high altarpiece is dedicated to the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The church suffered major damage during the Spanish Civil War and had to be partially rebuilt. It is one of the most significant religious buildings in Alcoy and is still the centre of many religious and cultural celebrations in the city, including the famous Moors and Christians festivities.
Kon Tum Cathedral from a different angle seen through the local styled new year (?) decoration.
18.6% of the Kon Tum parish population is claimed to be Roman catholics as compared to the 6.1% national average.
More than half of the population in Kon Tum Province are ethnic minorities, which may be reflected in the style of decoration.

The parish church was built, according to local historical sources, in the twelfth century on a rock - island in the immediate vicinity of the port of a fishing village. The property has undergone over the years various interventions and expansions, especially in the sixteenth century and the first decades of the nineteenth century, changing almost part of the original church structure. In 1970, were placed in three niches of the façade, the one facing the main square, the statues of the saints and the Madonna Lucky Prospero and the Grove.
The building was consecrated in 1826 by the Archbishop of Genoa, Monsignor Luigi Lambruschini and again in 1847 by Bishop Placido Maria Tadini.

Glenorchy Parish Church is a very important church in part of Scotlands history, it contains the remains of the Chiefs of Clan MacGregor since 1390. It is very simple in its interior but that makes it all the more interesting, you should make a visit there soon but remember to look through the graveyard where you will find one or two of my own ancestors resting places as well as some very interesting looking grave stones.
The Church of Ireland parish church in Saintfield was rebuilt in 1776 by the Price family. It includes some stones said to come from the old church of Lisnegarric, 1 kilmotre away, which was burned down in 1641.
In the 16th century, the Saintfield area was part of South Clannaboy owned by Sir Con McNeil Óg O'Neil. His lands were confiscated after a false accusation of disloyalty in 1602 and were granted to Sir James Hamilton in 1605 who 'planted' English and Scottish settlers in the area. Saintfield was originally an early 17th-century settlement, with the first church being built about 1633. The current Presbyterian and Roman Catholic church buildings in the town also date from within a decade of the parish church.

The Parish Church of Saint Nicholas
The market town of Dereham sits on the main road between Norwich and Kings Lynn.
The parish church is dedicated to St Nicholas, it is a large church and sits slightly west of the town centre, the church has a separate bell tower that was built in the early 1500's.
The main church is predominantly built in the Decorated and Perpendicular style but with some earlier Norman architecture.
The town lies on the site of a monastery said by local tradition to have been founded by Saint Withburga in the seventh century. The saint died in 743AD. A holy well, at the western end of St Nicholas' Church yard, supposedly began to flow when her body was stolen from the town by monks from Ely, who took the remains back to their town.
Writing on the cross:

Translation:
HOLY MISSIONS | D |
Not sure what is written below:

Also, not sure if these vertical lines are both vertical lines or maybe letter 'I' or 'J'.
Holy missions are a type of devotion in the Catholic Church, which consists in the visit of priests - missionaries and preachers to a specific parish with the aim of announcing the Good News and spiritual renewal.
Writing on the cross alternative could be: "Holy missions - Save your soul".
Lectures and devotions such as Eucharistic Adoration, Stations of the Cross and Rosary are held together. Missionary priests call for conversion and change of the current way of life. The year (1862.) in which the holy missions took place is written on a specially prepared cross and that cross is in a visible place in the church.
The parish church in Neilston. The building dates back to 1760, possibly even as far back as 1589, with the tower being built in 1789.
The parish church in Fettercairn (pop. 343), Scotland, dates from about 1804, when an older church was demolished and the present one built. The oldest gravestone in the cemetery is dated 1615.
For over 1500 years a church has stood on the banks of Loch Lomond. The buildings may have chaged over time but the outstanding beauty of the area hasn't. With the loch and Ben Lomond right on our doorstep, we boast one of the most scenic locations for a church.
The Parish Church of All Saints with Saint John the Baptist on Market Hill
The market town of Huntingdon is situated in the east of England about 60 miles of London. The town was once the county town of the historic country of Huntingdonshire, and is now a part of Cambridgeshire.

Parish church of St. Bartholomew and John the Baptist - the oldest sanctuary in Kazimierz Dolny (the parish existed there already in 1325), the church was first gothic, then developed in the style of “Lublin renaissance” (between 1586-91 and then 1610-13 under supervision of Italian architect Jakub Balin). The ceiling of the church is covered in stucco decorations, geometric, mannerist, shaped in circles, squares, hearts, stars and rosettes. In the interior of the church, there are a few items particularly worth noticing: late gothic main portal, 1620 organ inspired by Flemish art), stalls in the presbyterium (from the 1st half of the 18th century), a baptismal font made of stone (by Santi Gucci, a Florence artist), 17th and 18th century cordovan antependia (the covers of the front part of the altar made of pressworked and dyed leather), an inlaid pulpit from 1615. The church was thoroughly renovated between 2010 and 2012.

Kościół farny widziany ze wzgórza, nieco poniżej zamku. W tle widok na Wisłę i okolice :)
Kościół św. Jana Chrzciciela i św. Strop kościoła pokrywają dekoracje stiukowe, geometryczne, manierystyczne, uformowane w koła, kwadraty, serca, gwiazdy i rozety. We wnętrzu kościoła na szczególną uwagę zasługuje późnogotycki portal główny, organy z 1620 roku inspirowane sztuką flamandzką), stalle w prezbiterium (z I poł. (autorstwa Santi Gucci, florenckiego artysty oraz intarsjowana ambona z 1615 r. W latach 2010–2012 kościół został gruntownie odnowiony.
