Palace of Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich - the wooden imperial palace, built in the suburban village of Kolomenskoye in the second half of the XVII century.It is a very complex system of separate wooden buildings, connected by transitions.
In 1767 it was decided to dismantle the Palace because of the fact that the fall in steel stairs and roofs.
The present building (2010) is the layout of the Palace of Alexey Mikhailovich in full size. Construction was carried out according to drawings made at the behest of Catherine II. However, the new structure is not entirely wood: all designs are monolithic, concrete, then covered with logs. Orientation Orientation is also not preserved - layout has been rotated about a vertical axis by 90 degrees, which completely disrupted the sacred meaning of the original structure.

The Imperial Palace of Goslar (German: Kaiserpfalz Goslar) is a historical building complex at the foot of the Rammelsberg hill in the south of the town of Goslar north of the Harz mountains, central Germany. It covers an area of about 340 by 180 metres. The palace grounds originally included the Kaiserhaus, the old collegiate church of St. Simon and St. Jude, the palace chapel of St. Ulrich and the Church of Our Lady (Liebfrauenkirche). The Kaiserhaus, which has been extensively restored in the late 19th century, was a favourite imperial residence, especially for the Salian emperors.

To be more precise this is Castle Augustusburg in Brühl (sometimes also called Augustusburg palace which sounds more like it looks like) - built as a weekend cottage by the Archbishop-Elector of Cologne, Clemens August of Bavaria of the Wittelsbach family in the 18th century. The castle is surrounded by extensive gardens and park grounds. From shortly after World War II until 1994, Augustusburg was used as a reception hall for guests of state by the German President, as it is not far from Bonn, which was the capital of Germany at that time.The castle is protected by the international “Convention concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural heritage”. I shot this on a photo safari with my friend during the only hour of good light yesterday.
Built originally for Jan III Sobieski, one of Poland’s greatest kings and hero of the 1683 Battle of Vienna against the Turks, Wilanów Palace was subsequently owned by powerful Polish magnate families, including the Czartoryskis and Lubomirskis. I especially enjoyed the history of this beautiful piece of architecture (one of the few to survive World War II intact) since it embodies much of the history captured by James Michener in his epic historical fiction saga, “Poland,” which I read before my visit to Warsaw.
