There’s nothing like enjoying a nice refreshing crisp pint of cider in the English countryside. The labels and basic communication tools I’ve designed for Newton’s Farmhouse Cider, a fictional brand of cider, reflect this idea through the use of a set of illustrations based on wildlife typically found in the British countryside. These minimal illustrations give the labels a contemporary look yet hold on to the traditional values and emotions that ar associated with the product. Next to that, they give the bottles and every deviated communication tool a distinct look helping it to stand out from the competition.
I'm sure people who live in moist, prickly heat- prone regions would not understand why this powder would be displayed in a case, ensconced in orange drapery
A close-up of the faux seal on the outside of the card boxes. Some might say that this is a particularly ridiculous example of unnecessary packaging whereas I think, especially in today’s digital age, that it’s just one more attention to detail that reiterates the Luxe statement and MOO’s dedication to craft.
Far beyond unnecessary this seal adds to the delight already started by the Yay! sticker on the outside of the shipping box. Delight is hard to come by these days and is even harder to design for.

For those of you who prefer not to wait for the yummy goodness of fresh picked produce, The Gardens at James Ranch is now producing small batches of specialty delights with the fresh picked bounty from their gardens. We designed the label using a painting by Jami Tobey, and ultimately this will become the colorful face for this ever growing line of limited edition fresh products.
