A graphic designer is responsible for creating visual concepts, using computer software or by hand, to communicate ideas that inspire, inform, or captivate consumers. In the context of designing promotional materials such as flyers, brochures, posters, postcards, company profiles, booklets, catalogs, pamphlets, banners, logos, letterheads, and business cards, a graphic designer is responsible for the following tasks:
•Understanding the client's needs and requirements for the promotional material
•Developing design concepts and layouts that meet the client's goals and branding guidelines
•Selecting appropriate images, graphics, colors, and typography to enhance the overall design
•Revising and refining designs based on feedback from the client
•Ensuring that the final product is high-quality, visually appealing, and print-ready
•Staying up-to-date with design trends and technologies to bring fresh ideas to the table
The end goal of a graphic designer is to produce promotional materials that effectively communicate the client's message and attract the target audience.

Starting in maybe 2010 or 2011 (?), Walgreens rebranded whatever house brand they carried into this "Nice!" thing.
Maybe there's a frustrated package designer in me: I really liked them and was surprised (and delighted — delighted, I tell you!) to see dozens and dozens of examples of this rebranding throughout the store. Like, everything that they were selling a generic house brand of...? It was now in a "Nice!" package.
So I thought:
• Wow, this must have been a huge project for whoever got the job, good for them
and
• This is the kind of thing that some Flickr people go crazy over.
So, what, five years or so after I initially saw them, three years after I took these photos, here they are. I'm sure they're already all over Flickr and have been for years, but don't tell me — you'll just upset me.

My concept for this package was to create a design that evokes good luck for a brand of Mentos-like chewable mints. I wanted the package to transmit good fortune as well as abundance. I was inspired by the affluence seen in the 80’s where the rich got richer. However, I wanted to transmit all of this as if it were appealing, attainable and not out of grasp for the consumer.
