I got a job down at the local farm shop....cleaning up the leftover rotten pumpkins from Halloween. It pays me a few $Lindens...enough for a meal and a drink, I guess.

Happy Halloween! Mid Michigan Railroad "Pumpkins" 2057 and 2019 lead Michigan Shore's Z627 south towards Holland along US 31, passing the pumpkin patch at Green Acres. Heavy rain and slick rail had caused 2057 to work a bit too hard and pop its crank case over-pressure switch, leaving 2019 to pull the heavy train slowly south alone.

[Halloween is coming.]

Soon, winter will descend upon the land.

The morning was quite lovely and as I kew that the weather would change i went to the park to take a photo of the pumpkin elephant with some autumn colours in the background. This elephant is life-size and quite impressive. It is one of my favourite sculptures at this year's pumpkin festival.

My daughter is a hospice care consultant. They held a pumpkin decorating contest. They were all good but this was our favorite. Very clever.

From a Flickr Meet-Up in Napa Valley.

A beautiful day - warm and sunny - weaving through the Napa Valley with a Flickr Friend in search of photo delights. You can't beat it!

This one is a blast from the past. My daughter and our neighbor were a year and six months respectively in this photo. They were having a grand old time. Wow do they grow up fast.

This was our spot for picking a pumpkin this year - a farm located close to the Provo airport. Along with a pumpkin patch they had a corn maze, a hay fortress, wagon rides, and other activities to celebrate the fall season.

Caleb's preschool class took a field trip to the pumpkin patch today. The other parents thought I was a bit daft for taking pictures of pumpkins and apples instead of the kids....but whatever ;)
