This model dates back to one of the last years GT operated as an independent company in Santa Ana, Calif. The Pro Series was the top-of-the-line steel bike, topped only by the aluminum Speed Series. I believe this bike was made in the USA.
The bike is something of a mid-school classic time capsule and has top-shelf upgrades, including Profile 3-piece cranks, Shimano DX brakes, and Peregrine Power pedals. Relive memories or give your kid a bike that's way cooler and more bombproof than anything you can get today.
I removed most of the decals but it looks great due to the nearly perfect chrome plating. I've put maybe 100 street miles on it total and has never been raced, abused or even ridden on mud. It's only been through a handful of jumps and tricks, since I'm too old to be breaking bones.
