@Pumpkin patch in my town

This barn appears to have been patched up many times over the years. The roof, the sides, the additions. It all makes for a unique look. The dusting of snow adds a nice touch as well!

A big patch of this wildflower native to the Great Plains grew in an area the park people cleared of brush last year. I spent a lot of time at this patch photographing the many species of pollinators that visit these flowers.

Honey produced by bees that have collected nectar and pollen from this species can irritate or burn the throats of consumers of it. Beekeepers call it "jalapeño honey".

Selective focus on one bud on my Winter Gladioli which are providing much needed colour in the garden at the moment.

Spare a thought for Queensland again facing major flooding for the 3rd time this year. And at such a late stage in the year!

There were many pumpkins to chose from on this beautiful Autumn day.

It is that time of year and the pumpkin patches are busy with families getting out to enjoy our lovely fall weather. I had to get out early yesterday to get a couple of shots before the crowds descended. Maan Farm Market, Abbotsford, B.C.

Both boxcars seen here are patched for Conrail. The white one is former LV while the other is obviously former NYC (thus former Penn Central).

These are cars I weathered and patched and I'm running them on a friend's railroad for his first-ever open house.

This weekend we were treated to patches of ice on Georgian Bay. The inner harbour had the large geometric ice shapes near the ships. This section of the harbour had these soft mounds of snow covering thin ice. By Friday, it will be all gone again.

Found two Pumpkins at the Pumpkin patch

An eastbound Union Pacific coal train exits the Moffat Tunnel at East Portal, Colorado, on October 2, 2008. The lead locomotive is a former Chicago & North Western GE AC4400CW that is now patched and renumbered UP No. 6718. The strange off-center yellow patch and UP logo on the nose is allowing a peek at the famous C&NW ball and bar logo.

National Butterfly Center, Mission, TX

There are two cat cafés in Glasgow, Purrple Cat Café and Meow Café. For those who are stuck between the two of them (What else do you people spend time doing on vacation exactly?!?!), I enjoyed both but Purrple Cat Café has cats that are not pure bred cats which I like more. There are so many wonderful cats in this world who need homes even if they aren't "instagrammable" (Who cares-ALL CATS are instagrammable!) Anyway, Purrple Cat Café had over 30 cats but it was such a well taken care of place without even any smells that I was highly impressed. It gets my highest cat café recommendation which is 6/5 happy cats !
