Pällin putouskorkeus on 13,9 m ja voimala kehittää 51 MW tehon. Pällin voimalaitoksen omistaa Fortum Oyj.
Pällin voimalaitoksen ja siihen liittyvän pienen asuinalueen suunnitteli arkkitehti Aarne Ervi. Pällin voimalaitos on neljäs vesivoimalaitos Oulujoessa noin kahdeksan kilometriä Muhoksen kunnan keskustaajamasta ylävirtaan.
Pällin koneasemarakennusta sivulta katsova kiinnittää huomionsa voimalan kattoon, joka viettää sisäänpäin. Katon keskelle muodostuneeseen kouruun kerääntyvän veden poistoa varten rakennuksessa on sisäpuoliset, pystysuorat viemärit.
Historiaa
Pällin voimalaitoksen alustavat rakennustyöt pantiin alulle vuonna 1949 työttömyystöinä, sillä tuolloin Pyhäkoskelta oli jo vapautunut suuri osa tarvittavasta työvoimasta. Työmaa hoidettiin Pyhäkoskelta käsin, eikä varsinaista työmaayhdyskuntaa tarvinnut näin ollen rakentaa.
Voimalaitoksen varsinaiset rakennustyöt aloitettiin vuonna 1950. Rakentaminen sujui varsin hyvässä tahdissa, sillä työväki oli valtaosin jo Pyhäkoskella oppinsa saaneita, kouliintuneita miehiä. Myös koneiston asennustyöt sujuivat viivytyksittä, ja koneistotoimitukset saapuivat ajallaan; voimalaitoksen ensimmäinen koneisto kytkettiin voimansiirtoverkkoon heinäkuussa 1953, toinen koneisto kytkettiin saman vuoden joulukuussa ja kolmas ja viimeinen elokuussa 1954.

May 17: Had a lovely afternoon with my friend Diana, walking along the shore, talking and talking. We ventured into Asilomar Conference Center, where she'd never been, and I was captivated by this stand of old bikes, available for rental. Julia Morgan designed 16 of the buildings here, 11 of which are still standing. Lots of stone and wood and graceful beauty. We peeked into Merrill Hall, where some friends of mine went to a Scottish Country Dance years ago, and although today the large room was full of plastic chairs all asunder, I could almost imagine a candlelit hall full of men in kilts and slim-ankled women bowing and curtseying to one another before launching into a stately waltz. Like these bikes: they look like they want to dance, don't they? Something really slow, I think.
