Loaded coal from Clymer slogs through the rainy streets of Clearfield at dusk. They'll tie up in the yard at Clearfield, and another crew will run south for another 65 loads before the trains combine and the 130 behemoth is moved to Keating where it will become a NS 632 for Baltimore.

In San Francisco with my west coast damsel a few weekends back on a photo walk with flickr’s San Francisco photo group celebrating flickr’s 20th anniversary doing a photo walk, we spent part of the weekend capturing images of the magnificent Goldengate Bridge both days, but this image is not of the Goldengate bridge, but rather it is the complex of Bethlehem Steel where the steel the forms the Goldengate Bridge was forged in Bethlehem Pennsylvania. Much of the steel of the famous New York City Landmarks, the Chrysler Building, the Empire State Building, bridges like the George Washington and of course the Goldengate were forged in the massive furnaces of Bethlehem Steel. The campus was enormous, these are vestiges of what remains and the enormous stacks and furnaces have been landmarked, preserved and the area turned into a multipurpose venue. Many things have been torn down at the rebuild continues, the corporate office building which was standing when I took this image was imploded, but there are these wonderful structures that remain that make an interesting photographic subject of what was. #developportdev @gothamtomato @developphotonewsletter @omsystem.cameras #excellent_america #omsystem @bheventspace @bhphoto @adorama @tamracphoto @tiffencompany #usaprimeshot #tamractales @kehcamera @mpbcom @visitbethlehem @steelstacks_pa #omd #olympus #microfourthirds #micro43 #micro43photography #lehighvalleypa @lehighvalleypa @visit_pa
