Jagmeet owns and operates a big rig to haul gravel for road construction (farmers have to get their grain to market, and road transportation has replaced the railroad in recent decades - hence the agriculture connection). He and other Sikh gravel haulers were based in Val Marie for a few weeks in the fall of 2018 while the local highway was resurfaced. When I approached him to ask for a photo, he was not only obliging but a natural in front of the camera, and I had the shots I needed within minutes.

I came across an old photo of Sidney Freight Ltd. Mills Rd. Terminal in Sidney which is now VanKam Freightways.
These three 5 tons I use to operate on different runs when I was 17 yrs. old. The one that was my favorite is the one to far right, the Chevy unit #17… This was the Sidney, Central Saanich, and Brentwood run. I use to have a lot of connections with the Sidney businesses, obviosity as I was born and raised in Sidney. I spent most of my tome delivering to Sidney residents and businesses till I turned 19 got my class one and this really opened the doors for me moving forward in the Sidney Freight group companies.

This was taken in 1990. It was a source of income at that time for me. Autocar is the oldest truck manufacturer in the US. It was powered by a Detroit 8V92 twin turbo 475HP diesel connected to a 15 speed overdrive transmission. It had air ride and a walk-in sleeper. It had taken me to most of the 48 contiguous states hauling tanker trailers and hazardous materials. It was a lot of fun being a professional tourist. Before you make any stupid trucker comments, "I got your Good Buddy right here."
