I’m going to visit some catacombs beneath a city. Should be returning in 2 weeks.
Can anybody guess what behinds the window glass?
Full disclosure. I did a lot of messing about in Lightroom to create this image. I had gone out trying to get some backlit images of Red Deer, with their outlines illuminated by the setting sun. I managed to get into the right line to photograph this doe with a Readybrek outline. But there was also quite a lot of backlit grass in the scene. So I've not only boosted contrast and shadows, but also cloned out all of the backlit grass. I'm going to try to capture the effect over the coming weeks without the need for so much digital jiggery pokery. Original image taken on Big Moor, Derbyshire.

A dark seaweed washed up on the beach, outlining the shoreline in black. In some spots the seaweed was very thick.

The morning frost in the grass sparkled like a myriad of diamonds,
casting an ethereal beauty over the meadow !!
This photo was taken last Sunday, near the once small village of Magoito. It was here that we where almost every weekends and vacations during my childhood. Those where very happy times, where this kind of views where really usual.
Next week I'm hopping our UMM 4x4, will be fixed so we can re-explore all this forgotten places.
This is the end of the day for me. coming to the station, every time I take more or less the same picture. But, again and again, something unforseen jumps into the frame. This location never ceases to amaze me.
Elegant Hindu shrines built in 700 AD . It is considered the finest early example of medieval southern Indian temple architecture. Unlike most of its neighbours at the site, it is built of cut stones rather than carved out of caves. It has two shrines, one dedicated to Shiva and the other to Vishnu. Its style is characterized by a pyramidal kutina-type tower that consists of stepped stories topped by a cupola and finial, a form quite different from the northern Indian sikhara. The Mamallapuram monuments and temples, including the Shore Temple complex, were collectively designated a UNESCO World Heritage site. Marco Polo and the European merchants who came to Asia after him called the site Seven Pagodas. One of these is believed to be the Shore Temple. Temple complex in the category of structural temples goes to the King Rajasimha (700–728 AD), also known as Narasimhavarman II, of the Pallava Dynasty. It is now inferred that this temple complex was the last in a series of temples that seemed to exist in the submerged coastline; this is supported by the appearance of an outline of its sister temples off the coast during the Tsunami of 2004 which struck this coastline.

A cool fact from Cornell
"Swans have long been associated with ideals of romance. Added to their elegant outlines and all-white plumage is their tendency to form permanent pair bonds by the time they’re 2-3 years old. Once a pair forms, Tundra Swans feed and roost together year-round."

it’s not the bike — it’s the idea of it. carved in shadow, stretched across wood, held still by sun. the spokes turn only in our minds, the rider long gone. what’s left is the memory of motion, drawn in light.
