Our art collective, Pataphysical Studios, is presenting a special exhibit on the Pataphysics of Dada at the Canessa Gallery in San Francisco, on November 3-12, 2016. It is part of the Dada World Fair, organized by City Lights to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Dada art movement.

This photo set covers our opening night exhibit and presentation on Thursday, November 3, between 6 and 8pm -- including a premiere of Ubu’s Dreams, a new shadow puppet show.

We greeted our guests with a shot of absinthe -- and introduced as a new collection of patadada paintings, sculptures and mobiles. We then invited them to sit down and interact with the Pataphysical Slot Machine, our poetic oracle.

Our half-hour presentation was hosted by Dr. Zboon, and included:

• an introduction to ‘Pataphysics by the Queen of the Desert, with Dr. Phylora

• an overview of the Pataphysical Slot Machine by Dr. Fabio

• “Bicycle Built for Two” by Drs. Canard on didgeridoo and Figurine on theremin

• Ubu’s Dreams, the puppet show by Drs. Zboon, Fabio, Mechano, Bellowhead and Phylora

• a sing-along of Maxwell Silver hammer, led by Dr. Skidz.

We are hosting two more special events: a Pata Dada Ha Ha! event with puppet show and special guests on November 5, and a second event on November 12 to wrap up this exhibition. All events are about a half-hour and take place between 6 and 8pm.
