This was the first in a new breed of America’s Cup yachts. USA 17 went on to win the America’s Cup in 2010 and brought the cup to San Francisco. Larry Ellison (being the show-off he is) decided to display it in front of the Oracle buildings in Redwood Shores, CA.

This superb 72-foot catamaran capsized today (10/16/2012) in the Golden Gate. Two helicopters the Coast Guards and many small ships were on site for rescue. The wind and current were very strong and the "ORACLE " drifted away upside down toward the ocean.
