* La Riva del vin circunda el Gran Canal desde el Puente de Rialto hasta la iglesia de San Silvestre en el lado del sestiere de San Polo. Es uno de los pocos tramos del Gran Canal flanqueado por recorridos peatonales. El nombre deriva del hecho de que en este lugar comenzaron a llegar y a amarrar barcos cargados de vino, una costumbre que se prolongó hasta casi mediados del siglo XIX.
Evocaremos aquellos versos del romántico José Zorrilla (poeta del s. XIX) en estos fragmentos de su canto:

The Bourguiba Mausoleum sits on the northern edge of Monastir cemetery. Its opulent splendour, topped with a golden dome, is a tribute to Tunisia's first president, Habib Bourguiba after independence from the French. Built in 1963, this burial mosque holds the bodies of the ex-President as well as his family. Two 25 m slender minarets are made of Italian marble, while the facade is covered with beautifully delicate tiling work. The tomb of Bourguiba itself sits amid a dazzling interior of glass-inlay and underneath a spectacular chandelier.

Wer nach dem Betrachten der Außenansicht eine opulente Innengestaltung erwartet hat, wird enttäuscht.
"Die strenge Lebensführung der Zisterzienser spiegelte sich in ihren schlichten Bauten wider. Allerdings entschädigt die schöne, bereits von außen erkennbare halbrunde Apsis.
Leider wurde dort gerade für das Konzert aufgebaut und geprobt, sodaß ich davon keine Nahaufnahme habe.

Le Marais Audubon (Loire-Atlantique) où j'aime aller photographier les oiseaux est couvert d'opulents buissons d'Eglantiers qui vont du blanc à diverses nuances de rose. C'est sans doute la fleur sauvage que je préfère 🌸
C'est aussi la première fois où je photographie une fleur avec un zoom et je suis agréablement surprise du résultat même si je lui préfèrerai la légèreté du 50mm ou du macro !

It was also the first time I took a photo of a flower with a zoom and I am quite surprised of the result. But I could prefer a lighter lens like the 50mm or the macro !

Prunkvolle Backsteinfassaden und opulente Giebel mit Ecktürmchen rund um den grünen Ehrenhof erinnern auf den ersten Blick eher an eine Adelsresidenz als an eine Schachtanlage, auf der Kohle gefördert wurde. Genau dies war Teil der Bauidee. Heute ist das „Schloss der Arbeit“ zweifellos eines der schönsten und außergewöhnlichsten Zeugnisse der industriellen Vergangenheit in Deutschland.
Kaum mehr vorstellbar ist heute, dass das Ensemble nach der Stillegung in den 1960er Jahren zugunsten einer Schnellstraße abgerissen werden sollte. Wichtigstes Objekt im Kampf um den Erhalt war die Maschinenhalle mit dem eindrucksvollen Jugendstilportal – heute eine Ikone der Industriekultur. Der Erhalt des Vorzeige-Baus aus Stahl und Glas 1969 rettete nicht nur die gesamte Anlage, sondern markiert gleichzeitig auch den Beginn der Industriedenkmalpflege in Deutschland.
Doch in unserem Museum der Sozial- und Kulturgeschichte des Ruhrbergbaus sind Glanz und Repräsentationskultur der Steinkohlenbergwerke nur eine von vielen Facetten. Unsere Ausstellungen führen Sie in eine Welt harter Arbeitsbedingungen, die wir exemplarisch an Lebensläufen von Männern und Frauen veranschaulichen.

Rang Mahal Restaurant – Maharajas' Express
On board the opulent Maharajas' Express, luxury travel meets culinary excellence in its two thematic fine dining restaurants: Rang Mahal and Mayur Mahal. These restaurants not only promise gourmet meals but also an unforgettable dining ambience.
Rang Mahal, meaning "The Palace of Colors", is an artistic masterpiece adorned with a hand-painted fresco ceiling, creating a vibrant and regal setting that reflects India's rich cultural heritage. Together with Mayur Mahal, inspired by the elegance of the national bird, the peacock, both restaurants cater to a blend of refined taste and design.
Each restaurant offers seating for up to 42 guests, providing a mix of intimate tables for two and social tables for four, allowing for both private and communal dining experiences.
Guests aboard Maharajas' Express are treated to table d’hôte meals (included in the fare), thoughtfully curated by skilled chefs specializing in both Indian and international cuisine. The onboard menu is complemented by a carefully selected wine list, making each meal a delight for the senses.
All meals—including breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner—are served in these two elegant dining cars, ensuring every culinary moment on the train is an experience in itself.
An extremely opulent window display that I just had to shoot. Pano-Sabotage being what it is, a largely improvisational, and therefore, not easily determinable method yielding un-repeatable results, this and one more shot were the only ones out of about 8 that were worth keeping. That's actually not a bad ratio, considering.
The exuberance and joy of Spring, bursting forth in a Surrealistic display. The mannequins were surrounded, in front, behind, above, below and all around by hanging blossoms. As a straight shot it was pretty amazing, but of course, pano-sabotage turned it into something else.

Well I think I have got Bold covered here, that eye contact suggests a healthy boldness. I'm not sure about the Opulent but he certainly is exotic and he is beautifully colourful so I'm hoping this close up of one of the tigers at Australia Zoo will fit the challenge theme for this week.

La Alberca no tiene grandes monumentos ni opulentos palacios. Su encanto procede de la arquitectura serrana tradicional, de las viviendas de agricultores, ganaderos o artesanos. Se nota en la plaza Mayor, el centro neurálgico, cuyas casas porticadas se sustentan sobre columnas de granito. Es un escenario popular, entre cervantino y goyesco. La abundancia de soportales señala su uso antiguo como escenario de mercado. Algunos de los bajos se han reconvertido hoy en restaurantes. En el centro de la plaza se alza un crucero del siglo XVIII con los símbolos de la Pasión de Cristo grabados.

Before heading over to the Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens, we decided to explore the city of Richmond (capital of Virginia) and stopped at the Jefferson Hotel. A very opulent place and somehow we missed the sign about not going in if we weren't actually staying there. Ooops! There were a few rose bushes outside trying bravely and beautifully to evade the winter season.

It lies in Lajos Kossuth Square, on the bank of the Danube. It is currently the largest building in Hungary and still the tallest building in Budapest.

La façade occidentale résume à elle seule l’opulence de l’église. Un ample arc en anse de panier est surmonté d’une accolade ouvragée sur laquelle figure une statue de saint André (saint patron de la Bourgogne).
Cette façade occidentale a la forme d’un vaste triangle divisé en trois bandes verticales :
- le corps central correspond à la nef et les deux pignons latéraux couvrent les bas-côtés.
- Le corps central est divisé lui-même en trois étages par des balcons ajourés.
- Le portail dont les sculptures très riches encadrent un tympan, montre Philibert et Marguerite présentés au Christ par leurs saints patrons. Sur le trumeau, on trouve saint Nicolas de Tolentin avec son étoile. L’église de Brou est placée sous son patronage. De part et d’autre, figurent les apôtres saints Pierre et Paul, patrons du prieuré bénédictin antérieur.
Aux niveaux supérieurs se détachent trois grandes fenêtres gothiques puis encore au dessus un pignon triangulaire terminé par un fleuron et deux pinacles. On découvre dans le portail la plupart des motifs décoratifs qui fleuriront dans l’église :
- Les marguerites : armes parlantes de la princesse,
- Le P et le M liés par les lacs d’amour,
- Les emblèmes bourguignons : la croix de saint André (en X) unie au briquet.
