On August 12th 1842, just 23 years after The Peterloo Massacre, Lancashire cotton-workers again marched in protest at appalling pay and conditions.
Reaching Preston's Lune Street the protesters were confronted by the authorities and read The Riot Act.

This is Wetton Hill and it looks so bleak and atmospheric with the sheep spaced out perfectly for perspective.
Wetton Hill is owned by the National trust and is comprised of two hills, this one being the highest at 371 metres above sea level but both commanding great view into the heart of the Manifold valley but also views of Chrome Hill and Parkhouse Hill. This area is wonderful walking countryside with lots of open access land to explore.

Each item holding variation in style, from basic lines to detailed facial features, and flowing arches. These jewlery items use reds, blacks and white
to contrast the gold.

Grass in a small pool on the summit of Kevelin Moor in Allendale, Northumberland.
The scene looks calm, but it was anything but. The wind was so strong I had to lean on the tripod to keep it planted to the ground. A shutter speed of 6 secs helped to 'smooth' out the water - though keeping things sharp took a few goes!
