Terracotta Kernos Vase was utilized for a few different reasons. Either to contain foods or hold flowers. The Kernos was found together with the jar (2004.363.2) and the jug (2004.363.3) displayed nearby in this gallery, in 1829 in a tomb on Melos by Captain Copeland, a British naval officer. The overall dimensions for this piece are: 13 5/8 in. (34.6 cm)
Other: 14in. (35.5cm). Used with Terracotta, and dates back to the Early Cycladic III–Middle Cycladic I around 2300- 2200 B.C.

Figure 1 from PeerJ Article "How long is a piece of loop?" (peerj.com/articles/1/)
Figure Title: The definition of loop span and loop stretch. (Figure URL: dx.doi.org/10.7717/peerj.1/fig-1)
Figure Caption: Loop span is the separation of the two Cαs at either end of the loop. In this example, 2J9O Chain A (198-205) has a span of 13.7 Å and contains 8 residues. Maximum span can be calculated from the number of residues in the loop to be 21.6 Å. Loop stretch is the normalised span (13.7/21.6 ≃ 0.63).
