We made our annual late winter trip to Presqu'ile Provincial Park, located on Lake Ontario, to see the ducks migrating back to the arctic. We estimated at least 10,000 ducks in the open water just off the park's shores. Most were Redheads and Greater Scaup, although there were some smaller groups of other species. If you look very closely, you might find the single male Canvasback in this photo (although there were a few more scattered throughout the thousands).

The park's resident Mute Swans sailed through the mass of ducks, without a care in the world. They reminded me of royal barges among the fishing boats.

Today was a beautiful, crisp winter morning, with actual snow and little wind. We took advantage of the weather to look for the Hawk Owl and other birds, and to enjoy some fresh air. Tonight we are getting freezing rain into tomorrow, so no fun to be had outside for the next few days.
This weed was covered in hoar frost and caught the sun nicely. It may be Queen Anne's Lace or something similar.

West Montrose Covered Bridge, also known as the "Kissing Bridge", is a covered bridge in West Montrose, Ontario, within Waterloo Region and the last type of this style of bridge in Ontario. Built in 1880–1881 by John Bear, the bridge is still used by pedestrians, buggy traffic and vehicles weighing less than three tonnes over the Grand River.
