Another recycled material, cardboard, turned into engaging workshops. Developed from my experience of alternative theatre workshops and work with young people in the arena of mental and personal health. I have run these workshops on mental health day.
I wanted to use artistic methodologies to get children to engage with aspects of their attitude to the outside world and masks are great because they implicitly or explicitly provide platforms for presentation of our fears, anxieties and opportunities to talk through these issues.
Men and boys often present masks in normal life.
This process is of course shaped by their age and ability and the context of the workshops.
This workshop was overwhelmingly popular and we ran out of cardboard - twice!
