"Peace is not something you wish for;
It's something you make,
something you do,
something you are,
and something you give away".

I had to go to the shop fittings place to look for some new shelving for my shop and there are sooo many creepy naked mannequins there.
My sister took this photo of me on one of those Mac Photo Booth things while I was standing around, bombarding the Apple store employees with questions about Macs and iPod nanos. I wasn't even posing for this photo. It is clear I have no idea what the hell is going on.
As of this afternoon, I am now the proud - if slightly confused - owner of a brandnew, spiffy-looking MacBook. This is my very first laptop, as well as the first Apple product I've ever owned.
I was just scrolling through my 'comments I've made' page, and had to laugh at this one - 36 hours after I asked Fathima for advice on Macs, I didn't even wait for her reply before I went ahead and splurged on one.
The first things I did when I got home:
1. Figure out how to connect to the internet
2. Download Firefox
3. Download flickr-uploader
Alright, then. Time to rock it up, rockstars!
(PS: If you're a Mac addict [excuse me, I mean, user], send some tips and tricks my way. This stuff is pretty funky.)

There's very little graffiti on the walls of Habana. It's either because people are being watched or beacuse the kids can't get the paint.
I was disappointed that the lightbulb still rattled even after I'd covered it in layers of papier-mâché.
(I gouged at it with scissors until I could see the shine of the bulb again and the ripples reminded me somehow of an earthquake. It was then that I forgot about the rattle.)
Rob Loves My Pancakes! It is so funny how he goes on and on about them. It doesn't matter where we go and have other pancakes - He Always tells me mine are better. After 20 years I can't tell you how many times Rob has begged to have Pancakes for supper. My Secret?????? Bisquick - and a little Love !!

PRESS POWER, or the media's dictatorship
by Gérard Rancinan
Paradise, or at least the Paradise of this sign, is in Pennsylvania. It is a very small place in Pennsylvania Dutch country. Many years ago, my kids and I took a road trip through that area.I have kept this souvenir all these years because I liked the idea of knowing exactly where Paradise was.
Finding light on rainy days is hard to do. When everything is washed in gray, the colors just don't sweep me up the way they do when the light hits them. But there is light, in the glassy puddling reflections that enchant and offer a lovely glimpse into a world I thought was drab. Hope that is seen is not hope at all, you know...
