****Btb, I am having a devil of a time with Flickr - for the last few days I’m been getting mini-freezes. Makes it hard to comment and to add pictures.. SIGH. And, yes, I have rebooted my phone and Flickr. I’m surprised I can add this on to the description.

Late in the afternoon the sun sets and you get this light that makes each shot special of the wildlife. This bird is in full mating plumage.

I promised I'd give more info about Oneword! I've been working on the blog so hopefully I can open it early later today! But here's a sneak peak of what the event is about!

Oneword

A bi monthly event created around one single word! Word suggestions will be submitted, single words to be exact. The top 5 most submitted words will be chosen to be voted upon! The top word to get the most votes will be the word for that current upcoming round! Designers will design products based upon that single word!

Coming March 1st to OneWord

Livernois is a major north-south road that runs from the city's northern border at Eight Mile Road to the far reaches of the southwest part of the city. The name comes from landowners of French descent who had farms along this street.

Part of Livernois near Seven Mile Road was an upscale shopping district known as "The Avenue of Fashion." The area lost much of its cachet with the rise the malls and changes in neighborhood demographics, but the area has stabilized and is making a slight recovery.

I suppose this sign represents doubling down on Detroit. I hope it doesn't confuse the Postal Service or GPS devices.

Week 3 ~ Our challenge ~ One Word + Vision & Blur

Think of one single word, mood or thought...and then set out to create a photo around your theme.

Keep in mind we are working on vision/blur/light/simple/dreamy ~~~ sounds so easy?

I have been somewhat behind, due to "life" ~ you know what that's like, right? This has been in my head for a little while, and finally got to create it.

2012 has already been such a fun and "create~ive year" and I am enjoying every minute. Gettin' your creative on can certainly be a challenge when life gets in the way. Lately it's felt like life & my creative side are in a battle. =) I keep doing the best I can to carve out little slices of time for creativity.

I've been making sets of homemade cards and have SO been enjoying the process. I know it's not much, but when you have a little bit of time and can make something pretty and hopefully make someone happy, then I think it's completely and creatively worth it!

I'm doing a 365 project this year, with emphasis on self-portraits/people. I'm working at expanding my eye beyond the intimate details to capture wider angles and tell more stories.

Shutter Sisters prompted a new look at me today; I don't know what to do with this new side I am finding. The blur is not intentional - it never is when you're parenting - but it's appropriate. There is so much out-of-focus beauty in my life right now...
