there is an eye inside

that scans the things that have been

to know the things

that might one day be

.

and it knows

.

it knows

.

how i'm faster now

i’m high above

i’m ten leagues ahead

.

(but i can still fall, i can still dread)

.

it’s a treacherous place

this thicket of hearts

this tangle of heads

.

(but i can still see, I can still tread)

Digging through my archives & I stumbled on this one.

I've always loved it.

sometimes it's easier to blur than try to focus. just sayin'.

I have done several orton attempts in the past and I will probably do many in the future. Thanks to my contacts here on flickr, I learned about orton. Bokeh lovers should note: orton thrives on the bokeh. You see, one shot that is sharp and overexposed two stops is overlaid with a shot that is out of focus, at widest aperture, overexposed one stop. Here is my previous view of this fountain in orton. In comments I'll paste the in focus version of the above photo for reference. You think your naturey crap is nice now, you should try it with a bit of orton! (but be sure and pack your tripod ;-)

There's something about shooting in studio that I absolutely love.

Shooting on location is just as fun because you've got choice as to where your model will pose and if they're interacting with the environment but there is still something about shooting in the studio that I'm always drawn to. I can't put my finger on what it is exactly but I feel as though it has something to do with having complete control of the lighting and the lack of pressure and distraction that shooting on location yields.

Lots more photo's of Fiona and I's shoot on my facebook page!

Happy monday!

yeah, ok, so now you know I am bored. We never went out to get our family pic today. But my house is spotless, all the laundry is done and hubby wants to take me out to eat. So, it's a good day. :D

Ornamental cabbage, flaws and all.

Biggie size it.

Oh it's snowing again? You act as if I should be surprised!

Moved the camera on purpose to get this wild artsy shot.

I threw the lens out of focus and the world looked a little prettier ;-)

Just a little “BLYTHE FIFTH AVENUE School of Modeling (and Charm !)” HUMOUROUS entry ...

For TODAY’S THEME ... “ESCAPOLOGIST” ...

( ... hmmm ... does it seem like there should be an “E” somewhere in the middle of that word??? ... anyhoodle ... )

The BFA “FAB 4” thought it would be fun to make a “scrapbook page” and glue little cut-outs of their faces onto the iconic Barnum CIRCUS ANIMALS cookie box/ Anniversary tin ...

BECAUSE ... (and even though all bars from the animal cages have since been removed [by Nabisco] from the original product design ...)

THEY ... (these 4 mischievous little girls) ... thought it would be funny to remind ME that ...

THEY ... WILL NEVER ... ESCAPE ... BFA!!! (NOT like over half of their fellow BFA Models / Sisters have done over the past couple of years. (and yes, WE like to say ... they GRADUATED ... and have moved on to better places; this is not in dispute!!)

DISCLAIMER: We submit this photo ... NOT as one of our “usual” “PicMonkey Shenanigans” photo entries of our usual caliber ... (as you know, we take our shenanigans quite seriously ....hhaaahah) ... and ...

We FULLY understand and REALIZE ... The 4 BLYTHE DOLL HEADS you see, are NOT SUPPOSED TO LOOK LIKE THEY “BELONG” to the actual animals on the cookie box ... NO!

It is being presented here today ... as a mere “scrapbook pieced-together” sort of “collage creation” ... that is MEANT TO look humourously-NOT-CORRECTLY-PROPORTIONAL as our usual shenanigan photos strive to maintain ... and in no way REALISTIC ...

thereby giving the appearance as if OUR LITTLE GIRLS MADE IT ... for the flickr group ~

Happy New year everybody :)

My new years resolution is :

To never listen to those who say there needs to sharpness in images.

To never listen to "the rules of third" cheerleaders.

To do things the best way, my way !!

High Park, Toronto. Waiting for some cygnets to be born. Hope they will be born. You never know, Toronto is a mean city and the parks workers mess with the eggs most years to keep the population down.

Do you ever feel like you are moving through life in a blur?

This was an intentional, walk-by blurring. :)

Well, the good doctors were kind enough to give us each day passes on the same day. What happens when this much craziness gets together? It seems the result is a cross between The Last Supper and The village People.

Why Christina brought her pony is still a mystery to me.

Go here: to see a non-butchered version of this wonderful group shot.

Was what? Haven't a clue.

For GTWL we're supposed to take photos that represent characteristics of our zodiac sign. My birthday falls on the cusp between two--according to some sources i'm a Leo and in some i'm a Cancer. I think there's a way to find out definitively using the latitude/longitude of where you were born or something, but i've never cared enough about astrology to bother. The point is that Leo and Cancer signs are so totally different. And i tend to see Cancer traits in myself while other people say i am definitely a Leo. But it's my picture, so i say i'm being a Cancer here. I'm a little hermit crab. I'm antisocial and i like to be alone. It makes me happy. Also, i pinch.

Happy futab, bitches.

Say what you will, but I'm pretty impressed with this description:

Green is common in nature, especially in plants. Many plants are green mainly because of a complex chemical known as chlorophyll which is involved in photosynthesis.

Some animals are green: these include some frogs, toads, some turtles some lizards and amphibians, some snakes, some birds such as parrots, caterpillars and some insects such as praying mantids.

I can't quite put my finger on it..

Felt weirder than usual today.. But that's normal for me (I think).

Spent some time listening to the latest The Dandy Warhols last week. It's impressive that they can change their style so much and still rock it. That's talent...

I love this abstract because of the transition from colorful on the left to white on the right. Or maybe it went from white to colorful. Depends how you read it :-)
