Greed and uncontrolled desire can compromise things that were once honest and true. a steep incline in focusing on only one subject can lead to obsession and subsequent destruction of the initially prized object. this piece focuses on the obsession of a lost love- after losing what seemed to be the definition, the purpose in his life- the figure did everything he could to try to re-reach his previous happiness- but even after recapturing the girl he once loved, he could never have her as he once did. Her heart was no longer his. So he broke it apart.. section by section.. and spread it out across his dining table.

My latest obsession is knitting. We've been collecting all the stuff out of the storage shed the last few days, and I found the box with my knitting in it that I haven't seen for six months. I knitted the hat in maybe 5hrs total, and the scarf has been an ongoing project for about 12 months (well, 6 if you don't count the time it spent in storage). I hope to have it finished by tomorrow, so I have it ready for Winter and I can start on something else to prepare for the colder months ahead!

From the time I would come to the City as a young child, I have been struck by the magnificence of New York. By its very proclivity to recast what’s normal – characterized by defiant skyscrapers which brush the clouds, the irreverence and chaos of Times Square, even the melding of the world’s peoples on an island 13.4 miles (21.5 km) long and 2.3 miles (3.7 km) wide. New York City is replete with icons. Buildings, sculptures, monuments, even streets are themselves souvenirs, taken back home in photos and memories by visitors and New Yorkers alike. Some of them, notably the Statue of Liberty and the Empire State Building are near obsessions for me. I have photographed each beyond reason, time and time again. My files are filled with photos like these. Here are but a few.
