It's a victory that the vote on Trumpcare was delayed but we must keep the pressure on. If you live in Chicago, there's a Health Care vigil tonight at 6pm at Daley Plaza.

The Tea Party people held a rally calling for the health care reform bill currently being considered in congress to be stopped. Republican U.S. representative Michele Bachmann was the guest speaker. The crowd was filled with signs and stickers for Bachmann and other Republican candidates.
Signs in this picture:
"SANU! for state Representative"
"WWII Combat Infantrymen NO Socialized Medicine"
Currently, WWII combat infantrymen and all United States military veterans receive benefits from federal government social programs such as: health care from the government, education assistance from the government, help with home loans from the government, disability compensation from the government, pensions from the government, vocational training and employment services from the government, life insurance from the government and preferred placement in government jobs.
Felt like trying something different... so I tried something different. If y'all wanna see more stuff like this, or if there's something else you would like to see, just tell me; I'd be happy to build whatever you want, provided I have the pieces for it.

good morning, comrade general. here is your daily foreign intelligence briefing.
thank you. what news?
all good, sir. our agents are completely embedded in the executive branch in Washington, DC.
and our prime asset?
he is carrying out his instructions as a good state functionary. a russian functionary, that is.
ha ha. he knows on what side his bread is buttered, eh, sergei?
and we feed him lots of butter, don't we.
that idiot is turning the USA into an SSR.
one tweet at a time, eh, general?
tell him to keep it up.
not necessary. he's on line 2 for you now.
he is?
to apologize. he was quoted as saying he hoped Obamacare would "explode," not "implode" as we had scripted.
mistakes like that we can live with, sergei.
I wonder if the Amerikanskis can.
ask someone who cares.
This sign, with Biblical roots reflects a sentiment to care for those less fortunate. Even when we might be afraid, we must feel compelled to be kind to immigrants and refugees. We must also look to those living in poverty without health care and those with disabilities. We must fight for those less fortunate.
I am glad to see some of those who identify themselves as Christian are speaking out against Trump. It's pretty incredible that someone who wants to take away healthcare from 22+ millions of Americans to reward the top 400 wealthiest families could be considered Christian.
I grew up with both Methodism and Catholicism and nowhere did Jesus ever say in the Bible, "Screw the poor, let the rich take over the world!" Nope...just wasn't there. Here's a recent article on the religious left speaking out:
www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-trump-religion-idUSKBN16Y114
In more recent news, Trump and co. have scammed people, including those living in poverty to give charitable donations which ended up just benefiting the rich yet again.
Trump, in his continually callous and damaging behavior towards people with illnesses and disabilities shifted funds for children with Cancer into his own profit:
www.forbes.com/sites/danalexander/2017/06/06/how-donald-t...
Even more recently, his lawyer Jay Sekulow scammed people into giving charitable donations just to make himself and his family richer.
www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/donald-trump-la...
I don't know how anyone can defend such actions, personally. I don't necessarily consider myself a Christian but I try to live a life of kindness towards others. What I do know is that these actions are appalling.

I finally figured out this difference after talking to so many different people when the reign of Trump occurred and gauged their reactions. We've all been told there are major issues like abortion, immigration, health care, education...
But, I figured it out...the only real difference between a liberal and a conservative is that a conservative only reacts, votes, and advocates along certain lines when an issue directly effects them...so, the woman that votes for Trump even though her husband and father of her 4 kids is an illegal immigrant and then gets outraged when he's deported...or the many Americans who will get outraged when/if Trump completely defunds Obamacare and they are left with nothing...they don't think on the "we" basis. They think only about the "me."
But a liberal, a liberal cares when anything negatively impacts a member of our community. Because, we see the connection..it's not just about human rights we're talking about here, although plenty of liberals care about that. But, what I'm saying is that liberals understand their place in the world in a more holistic sense. We realize that if a member of the community, whether it is a Black man wrongfully killed by police or a an anti-Muslim ICE raid that leads to a harmful deportation and disruption of family lives, this negatively impacts the quality of life of everyone in the community and we cannot ignore it. A liberal realizes that all humans should be honored based on the identity they choose vs. the one they happen to be born with even if we ourselves are heterosexual because it makes for a more accepting world. A liberal realizes we need to invest in climate change solutions before we're actually under a rising sea level. A liberal realizes putting guns in the hands of people who are mentally ill so easily without any background checks is a detriment to the safety of all.
I realize liberals have gotten a bad name in some circles and media outlets...and, it's not hard to see why...we live in a self centered world where profit is a god and many conservatives all out for themselves are both unhappy and rich. They own so many more major media outlets and they control the message. But, let's be clear, money doesn't buy you happiness...being part of a community does bring happiness and increase your quality of life. And, if more people thought about the community aspect..more about the we and less about the I...the world would be a much better shared safe space for us to live in.
Just ask Denmark, the famous masters of hygge or happiness. They care more about the we. They make sure all people have some basic protections. And, though they seem fond of burning a bunch of candles around wooden furniture, they still have much fewer fatalities.

Today, the GOP did not do what is right for America. In particular, the Wealthcare Act they approved even lists being a survivor of rape or sexual abuse as a pre-existing condition. Let's go farther...if you've had a C section delivery from a pregnancy, this is also a pre-existing condition. How people cannot see this as an attack on women is beyond me. Imagine being raped and not being able to identify yourself or get help because you'll lose health coverage. That's the new reality the GOP are celebrating right now.
Let's go even further. The new Wealthcare bill continues to give tax cuts to the wealthy and, at the same time, if you have asthma, you'll now be paying $4,000 more a year. People won't even be able to buy inhalers in this country, let alone pay for Cancer treatment. (No problems with that, though, because I am sure that with all the deregulation of businesses, there won't be increased toxins in our environment and food).
Under the new Wealthcare, if you have a disability, are a Veteran, or are elderly, you're pretty much out of luck. While thinking about Americans (including the constituents they ignored) literally dying in the streets without health coverage or medical care, these GOP are now kicking back some beers to your misfortune.
Finally, under the new Wealthcare bill, if your state lowers its insurance standards, your employer gets to do the same.
24 Million Americans uninsured (more very poorly insured at huge expenses) and they are getting intoxicated and celebrating.
If you are an American, Call Your Senator NOW and demand this doesn't pass the Senate:
If you have money to give, give to the democratic party candidates going against these monsters so we can take back our country:
secure.actblue.com/contribute/page/noahca
If you, like me, live in a very democratic state and have Democratic senators who will already vote against the bill, call other states and let those senators know you will be donating to their opponent if they vote for it.
I always really appreciate the sense of humor people have, even when they are angry about injustice and the end of democracy as we know it. (It's a good coping mechanism) And, if anyone is paying attention this week as our Attorney General, Jeff Sessions, continues to either evade any questions and/or commits perjury, any American on the fence should be alarmed and outraged at this point.
Also, something the news media is unfortunately not talking about as much is that the Republican GOP is trying to pass the health care bill that will deny 24 million people health insurance without releasing the full text of the bill and having public hearings. So, any ideas people had about the republicans in power caring about democracy should go right out the proverbial window. They want to see you suffer and die if you are a woman, a minority, have a disability, or aren't heterosexual. These people will ruin and kill Americans just to claim they got "something done"
Whatever happened to being remembered for the good you do in the world?

More lies keep coming from the White House and remarkably never in my lifetime have I seen a president actually prohibit live video of an official White House press conference.
Just yesterday afternoon, the Non-Partisan CBO or Congressional Budget Office released information that about 22 million Americans would be uncovered under this current bill. Though the White House insists Medicaid (which serves people with disabilities) won't be cut, if you read the bill, this is really about a huge tax cut to the 400 top wealthiest families. But remember, instead of Trump actually draining the swamp, he's happy to have the rich running the country anyway.
Additionally, this bill defunds Planned Parenthood and has several loop holes for different states to not provide appropriate coverage and for businesses to do the same. Have an objection against birth control for women? Well, ok then they don't get it, even if it is for a medical necessity. (In my case, I actually do take birth control for a medical necessity and have since I was 16 years old to prevent random black outs on buses and in parking lots).
There are a whole host of other things wrong with this bill-not being able to be ensured if you have pre-existing conditions. Not being able to get insurance for 6 mo. if you can't pay the initial high premiums. And this is all from the party that asserts they are so Pro-Life. Yeah, right.
Here's a nice idea-how about all of these Congressmen and women actually represent their constituents needs instead of plotting against them. Isn't that what Democracy is supposed to be about? So when even FOX news shows surveys that say over 80% of the public does not support this health care bill, it should be Dead On Arrival.
Here's an estimate of state by state damages that could occur if this bill is passed:

Politically Incorrectile Dysfunction
My own layered texturing along with a copy of the Declaration of Independence - July 4, 1776.
Marian Regional Medical Center in Santa María, California has a little chapel, in which religious services take place. A video camera relays them to a particular channel on the TV in every patient’s room.
In case anyone missed it, yesterday the Supreme Court decided that employers could get out of ensuring free access to birth control because of either a "religious" or "moral" objection. For the last 20 years in America, polls have shown that only 20% or less of citizens here want abortion to be illegal and I would imagine that in terms of access to birth control pills, people are even more liberal. This is yet another way that Trump has undone Obamacare and also a way for employers to cheapen out on looking out for their employees.
If you've been following the decline in women's rights over the last four years, you will recall that we have a man in office who stole the election and actively engaged in friendships with sex traffickers like Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, liked to hang around Miss America locker rooms, has had several accusations of rape against him and has paid off prostitutes and made all kinds of threats towards women in addition to threatening to grab their genitals. (I guess that's still good enough for the religious wrong as long as they can still control women's bodies, though).
So of course, he would put in a rapist and sex predator Brett Kavanaugh himself who, when confronted with reality with those who actually wanted to hold him accountable in his nefarious actions towards Christine Blasey Ford had the proclamation of "I like beer!" as a response followed by the whining of a bunch of republicans that don't believe they should ever be held accountable for anything they do that endangers the American public after they stonewalled the perfectly decent nomination of Merrick Garland from an actually truly elected Obama who never committed treason once in 8 years unlike our current crapload of a demon who negotiated a stolen election, paid a foreign entity for "dirt" on Biden and recently sold out American soldiers because p.s. Russia is not actually our BFF.
Since Trump has been in office, states like Oklahoma have been referring to women's bodies as "hosts" and funding has been drastically cut for Planned Parenthood. We have a bunch of mainly white male politicians severely limiting access to abortions in every state and now, they are even limiting access to birth control. Who will this impact the most? Women who cannot afford to pay out of pocket and therefore definitely could not afford to have a child but of course, in the battle to just control our bodies, men aren't thinking about that (or maybe they are because they do seem to like to watch women suffer.)
In many ways, I believe that women should stop sexual intercourse with men altogether. As I am myself with a male partner and realize how difficult this is, I will say at the very least women should ensure that their partners support their reproductive rights to choose. I realize that not all men are against our rights as witnessed by the fact that there were a lot of men in attendance at these protests and I know several men in my own life who are progressive about this. Unfortunately, these men are not running for any political office.
As far as a religious or moral objection, this is not about "pro life" This is about anti-choice and trapping women. This is about saying, "Your freedom to have control over your body is worth nothing to me because you are a woman and I want to control you!" The dissenters for that Supreme Court Case? Yep, that's right, the 2 women.
So why have women continued to allow this to happen when we make up over half the population? That's a good question. Though I see positive changes, women have been kept out of running for political office in every facet-locally and nationally for so long that it is going to take some time to catch up. Women are also kept out of major corporations as big shareholders and CEOs and the amount of lobbying and dark money that goes into these things is insane.
Even more problematic, though it is changing in a positive way, women did not embrace inter-sectional feminism earlier on in the beginning of the movement. In other words, white women wanted rights for other white women. The very women I have been taught to revere like Susan B. Anthony, for example, were only looking out for themselves. By doing so, they basically doomed us all. And, it is changing. I was pleased to revisit some of my old photos of Women's Marches and even in 2017 there were many women holding BLACK LIVES MATTERS signs and that struck me as highly positive. Because, part of what I don't understand about the Black Lives Matter movement is why it took so long for people to get this outraged when I have been feeling like this for years now and it is nothing new that cops are murdering innocent people because they happened to be born with Black skin.
What we have to remember is limiting the freedom and livelihood of other human beings hurts us all. Do we want to live in a super oppressive society where rich white men continue to control these harsh policies against us? How has that worked out so far? If we want progress, we have to work together inclusively and productively. We have to join hands and embrace and show empathy towards others who may first seem unlike us but are alike in the most important of ways-aligned in our quest for human rights.
I don't know what the answer is here besides obviously voting and inclusive empathy. I hope things will change if Trump doesn't manage to steal another election after he has held rallies and not been held accountable for surges in Coronavirus infections of his base, which is just about the dumbest political strategy I've heard of yet.

"We can't pay our bills, have no money for heat in the winter, not much for food, and none for medicine. We really need some of that money we paid in taxes (millions of dollars which he spends on his trips to play golf) to buy some warm clothes and shoes, and we'd love to be invited along on his jet if he has room, to warm up in the sun, eat some really good chocolate cake, and make some new friends. We'd like our daughter to have a nanny, if he has an extra one, so she, too, could learn to speak Chinese, if possible. We know he's thinking about us, about people like us, when he's out there on the 15th hole, getting out of a sand trap. We know, because he said so, and he always tells the truth, always. We believe in him," said the unemployed father of two, last week, who's currently in rehab from opiate addiction paid for by Obamacare.
"I guess my neighbor hasn't heard that the president plans to repeal and replace Obamacare with nothing," said a close friend who asked for anonymity for fear of possible arrest by ICE officers.
We're really starting to see evidence of men trying to take complete control over womens' bodies...In Arkansas and Oklahoma right now, even a rapist has rights over a conceived child through that act of sadistic violence.
A new Texas law takes this one step farther and encourages Drs to lie to pregnant females regarding when/if their babies will be born with disabilities...the republicans are trying to hide behind the idea that this is for the rights of people with disabilities but it's easy to see when they fund prisons over public schools that they really don't care about kids with disabilities or kids in poverty or minorities at all. They aren't pro life...they are pro death only the long con way.
After all, the GOP's own Secretary of Education, Betsy DeVos didn't even know about the federal law protecting individuals with disabilities in education. Their plan is to force women to deliver these children and then offer no support for these women and children. Seems like great family values to me!
The fact of the matter is that making abortion illegal and/or nearly impossible will just mean that mothers and fetuses or newly born babies die dramatic painful deaths. And keeping birth control accessible to everyone is in the public's best interest.
This new Trumpcare abomination calls for defunding Planned Parenthood. I wonder how long before there's a bill out there trying to prevent women from voting.

I will not make any political comments or statements. Will just say that ObamaCare killed medical healthcare. It was handicapped before and after it became even worse. Yes, everyone was forced to have an insurance that is pretty much useless and only covers PCP or CityMD. And yet we have terminally ill patients without proper care & seniors paying thousands for medications. Taxes went up, and after this election will probably move up again. I’m scared for future generations. What happened to American Dream ?!? Turns out USA & Soviet Union had hate / love relationship all those years because we are moving into the direction I came from. What do the kids who grew up with their parents who gave them everything know about socialism . . . I want Democracy more than any other person. I grew up below poverty level & have mother & grandparents on government assistance but there’s a difference between helping those in need & destroying, looting, disabling police & most of all destroying American Dream. My heart breaks. The pain I feel is really unexplainable.
I believe this is a 1958 Corvette. Auto makers used to put a lot of chrome on their machines because people loved it. People loved white wall tires as well. Now GM is on Obamacare, Ford and Chysler look like a Honda and nobody cares anymore?
Do you remember when one could glance at a car and say "1957 DeSoto"?

Yes, it’s the blood moon over mill city at about 6:23 this morning. If you look carefully, you can see Satan flying around on a magic middle eastern flying carpet of mass destruction, scattering bad luck ebola seeds and cackling about Obamacare… end times, etc. and so forth.

Yesterday, on the day after the Presidential election, as I walked across town on my way to a medical appointment (my thanks to the existence of "Obamacare"), I noticed an eerie, unusual silence in the streets of New York. Then I saw someone with an umbrella walking in front of me. On the umbrella I saw a very American symbol, perhaps one of our most successful exports worldwide, aside chewing gum. I assume all Americans know the meaning of a raised middle finger, and so do most citizens of the world, by now. The real question is who or what do we raise our middle finger to. But I found no clear answers to my question. It felt as if that finger was mainly raised towards ourselves, towards our fellow Americans, towards all those frustrations, anger, injustices, we appear to have now decided to hate and despise, to angrily, violently fight against, not to debate anymore with decency, in search of solutions and civil compromises. Suddenly the rain felt much colder and a police siren broke the silence, just a few blocks away.

175 people were arrested after a massive civil disobedience on July 19, 2017; in Senate offices around Capitol Hill. In the wake of the health care bill collapse, constituents from across the country flooded Capitol Hill to protest Republican senators who have not spoken up against ACA repeal and demand universal, affordable, quality healthcare for all. The Activist group #GetOrganizedBK held a rally and DIE-IN on March 11, 2017 at the Brooklyn Borough Hall steps and plaza in defense of the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare after the GOP released their bill to gut the ACA, putting many Americans at serious health risks if the ACA is repealed or replaced with their plan. New York Elected Officials expressed their support and joined the DIE-IN.
