A man in debt had made a deal with the devil. He got money from him in exchange for his soul. This one the devil would come for as soon as all the leaves had fallen from the trees. The man begged for help and the Holy Mary, out of pity, promised that the oak would keep its leaves. In autumn the leaves fell from the trees, but indeed, not at the oak. The devil was furious and clawed his long nails through the leaves of the oak. Since then, the oak leaf has been lobed.

There are some 600 species of oaks worldwide. This one is just one example that are native to California, of which there are 20 species. The arrival of the Spanish and further settlement of California has introduced many other foreign species of oaks which you may run into around the San Francisco Bay Area.
I took the photograph of this giant and beautiful oak tree in Seeon, Bavaria near by the Monastery Seeon.
I have again researched for Steffi why this oak is called Mozart Oak ... and found the following in Wikipedia:
Until secularization, the Benedictine monastery of Seeon was also a place of scholarship and culture: Haydn was a guest and Mozart worked here between 1767 and 1769. Mozart wrote for the Kloster Seeon two offertories: Scande coeli limina (KV 34, 1769) and Internatos Mulierum (KV 72, 1771). The so-called Mozarteiche, under which he was supposed to have enjoyed the tradition, continues to grow on Lake See.
Ich habe das Foto dieser gigantischen und wunderschöne Eiche in Seeon, Bayern direkt in der Nähe von Kloster Seeon aufgenommen.
Ich habe für Steffi noch einmal recherchiert, warum diese Eiche Mozarteiche heißt...und folgendes in Wikipedia gefunden:
Bis zur Säkularisation war das Benediktinerkloster Seeon auch ein Ort der Gelehrsamkeit und der Kultur: Haydn war zu Gast und Mozart wirkte hier zwischen 1767 und 1769. Noch 1771 wurden von ihm Offertorien aufgeführt. Mozart schrieb speziell für das Kloster Seeon zwei Offertorien: Scande coeli limina (KV 34; 1769) und Internatos Mulierum (KV 72; 1771). Die sog. Mozarteiche, unter der er der Überlieferung nach gerne gesessen haben soll, wächst bis heute am Seeoner See.

This shot was taken when I was out strolling around in the nearby nature reserve of "Norra Järvafältet". I was looking for a single tree located in a grassy field so I could take a "frosty, foggy" shot later this year. I didn´t found exactly what I was looking for but I found this tree and decided I should try to find some good compositions. The tree's branches form a bit of a "mushroom hat" and are fairly symmetric. I will go back in the autumn and see how the scene changes and what colors that bring. This image is processed to be on the warm side, with saturated colors and "golden" glow to it.
