...no flare this week...just a fence and someone who believes it is beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Baucher , l'un des maîtres ayant le plus fortement influencé l'équitation Française disait "avec les Chevaux il faut aller lentement pour aller vite"... Il voulait dire par là que de précipiter les choses feront à terme perdre du temps dans l'éducation du cheval ...
Depuis deux mois et demi , je travaille à pied avec Al'Taïr . Je voulais d'abord l'acceptation du mors ,sa confiance totale , puis une certaine obéissance à la voix...
De nombreuses personnes m'ont demandé pourquoi je ne le montait pas encore , certaines devaient penser , sans méchanceté , que j'avais peur...
Hier , j'ai décidé que le moment était propice .
Je l'ai longé en carrière pour le fatiguer un peu par précaution et j'ai mis une étrivière autour de son cou au cas ou je devrais m'accrocher à quelque chose .... Et puis je suis monté dessus en lui parlant .
Il n'a pas bougé une oreille !
J'ai fait une demi heure de pas tranquille , alors qu'un cheval sautait des obstacles dans la carrière , un peu de trot , je le réconfortait en lui parlant doucement et le caressait pour chaque obéissance aux rênes , que j’accompagnait d'ordres doux de la voix : prrrrrrr (en roulant les R , c'est ce qu'on dit aux Chevaux Polonais pour les calmer ou les arrêter et j'ai gardé cette habitude , ma jument était polonaise ) , Ôoooo pas ! Ôooo trot ! ...
Tout le travail préparatoire à fonctionné à merveille... Un cavalier restant concentré (j'ai eu droit à un écart à cause d'un chat...) , mais pas crispé , et aux anges... ☺☺☺
Certains "puristes" diront "ah , ben il est enrêné , balbla bla..." , je leur répondrait que je préfère enrêner mon cheval que de le traumatiser en lui montrant "que je suis un homme et que c'est moi qui commande" en le matant ...

Enjoying a few moments of sunny rays between rain showers! I love the way water droplets balance on the edge of my hosta leaves!
Milu was sitting on the arm of my chair and I couldn't resist her sweet fuzzy face. Her health is up and down these days. Her thyroid meds were increased a couple of weeks ago and the vet had suggested we feed her oily tuna frequently to keep her bowel movements regular. On her bad days there is no way that you can get her to take her tablet as she ignores all food and just goes upstairs and sleeps on my bed all day. On the good days she is always downstairs on the back of the sofa or the arm of my chair and will beg for treats as well as her own food. At the moment there are more good days than bad ones. She only weighs 3 kilos. You can imagine how tiny she looks beside fat boy Kaiser who weighs in at a hefty 7 kilos. She is 16 years old so not too bad for her age.
It is still freezing over here with temperatures around minus 3 every night. Luckily we are heading for warmer weather next week

Friends, I'm excited to share my first capture of the 2023 photography season - a fabulous female Evarcha arcuata, or the "Arcuate Jumper"! This fascinating jumping spider can be found across Europe and Asia, and she certainly caught my eye with her unique markings and style. 😍
Fun fact: Did you know that the Evarcha arcuata is quite the romantic? 💕 Males have been observed offering tasty insect treats to their lovely ladies as courtship gifts. Now that's true love in the arachnid world! ️❤️
