Now we are back in Diano Marina, where we will spend most of the summer. I took the two nuns with the DSLR a few years ago, but they still stroll through the Corsa Roma when something is going on. For this minimalist study, the time of the shot doesn't matter.
Burros are one of the attractions at Custer State Park. They are feral donkeys, descendants of pack animals. Normally they roam free, but, like bison, they are periodically rounded up for medical checkups and who knows what else. A busful of nuns came by while we were there. It was such a cute moment, the nuns were so excited to see and interact with the burros.

Carved over aeons of time by the rough Atlantic waves into a horse-shoe shaped cove, this secluded beach lies just north of Ballybunion Castle. It is located under an old convent, and was used by the resident nuns in times past as a private bathing area.

Mountain Nünenen reflecting in a pond collecting different little brooks, forming the beginning of the river Gürbe. The Gürbe flows into the Aare, the Aare into the Rhine and the Rhine into the North Sea.

Curral das Freiras (Valley of the nuns) is a small village situated in the crater of an extinct volcano. Santa Clara Convent used this area as a hiding place from pirates who were attacking city of Funchal in 16th century.

Last weekend I took a trip back to Nuns Cross Farm on Dartmoor. This is the farmhouse from the night shoot I did the other week. It looks a lot different in the day time and I think it looks even creepier. I actually got lost getting there at the weekend as I took the wrong path lol! God knows how I managed to find it in the dark and get home alive!!
Pilze, und in diesem Fall meine ich in erster Linie die Großpilze, lassen sich auf unterschiedliche Weise in Szene setzen. Man kann sie mit einer längeren Brennweite vom Hintergrund loslösen und so die Aufmerksamkeit ausschließlich auf den Pilz und seine Strukturen und Farben legen. Man kann aber auch mit einer kürzeren Brennweite den Pilz in seinem Waldumfeld abbilden. Nun spielt er zwar immer noch die Hauptrolle, ist aber Teil einer Gesamtkomposition geworden. Letzteres habe ich mit dieser Aufnahme versucht. Zum Einsatz kam eine 22mm Festbrennweite, die am Canon APS-C Sensor 35mm KB entspricht.
Mushrooms, and in this case I primarily mean large mushrooms, can be presented in different ways. You can separate them from the background with a longer focal length and thus focus exclusively on the mushroom and its structures and colors. But you can also use a shorter focal length to image the mushroom in its forest environment. Now he still plays the main role, but has become part of an overall composition. I tried the latter with this recording. A 22mm fixed focal length was used, which corresponds to 35mm KB on the Canon APS-C sensor.

Wegen Bauarbeiten war mehrere Wochen die Strecke zwischen Weiden und Marktredwitz gesperrt, dies hatte Umleitungen der sonst hier planmäßig verkehrenden Güterzüge zur Folge. Bei den Zügen von/nach Cheb betraf das die Züge 45366 und 45367, die nun, statt über Weiden, über das Pegnitztal geführt wurden. Am Abend des 07.06.2024 wartete eine größere Gruppe Fotografen auf den 45366 in Zips (bei Pegnitz). 233 314 kam mit dem fotogen zusammengestellten Zug im besten Abendlicht vorbei.
