We are pleased to announce the first of three Summer Sessions of Eating Our Words, the acclaimed bi-monthly event that features celebrated literary and culinary artists sharing words, food, and their appetite for adventure. Based on the idea that nothing is better than good food and great conversation, poet Gabrielle Calvocoressi and gallerist Heather Taylor invite you to come and join them for another season of feasting in Los Angeles.

For our first Summer Session we are thrilled to welcome Journalist Kevin West who will be in discussion with architect and designer Alejandro Artigas about What We Talk About When We Talk About Food. In addition Kevin West will curate an artisanal food community onsite as a means of allowing guests to experience, enjoy and consider what it means to be part of a sustainable artistic and artisanal culture and how we define (and re-define) “local.” Special guests will include The Fox Pizza Bus, Let’s Be Frank, Handsome Coffee, Dry Soda and The Institute of Domestic Technology. All of the culinary artists will have food for tasting and purchase.

Journalist Kevin West has roots in Blount County, Tennessee, at the foot of the Smoky Mountains, where the Wests have been farming for over 100 years. He attended Deep Springs College, an educational experiment on an operating cattle ranch in Eastern California and Sewanee: The University of the South. For 13 years Kevin was on staff at W Magazine, with posting in New York, Paris and Los Angeles. Today he lives in LA and runs the blog Saving the Season as well as producing a retail collection of jams and marmalades. His cookbook Saving the Season: A Handbook to Home Canning, Pickling and Preserving will be published by Knopf in Spring 2013.

Architect and designer Alejandro Artigas moved to L.A. in 2001 to study Architecture at SCI-Arc graduated in 2004. He co-founded Gabriela Artigas Jewelry in 2003, and following year founded ARTLESS Corporation to practice architecture and furniture design.

Gabrielle Calvocoressi is a poet and essayist whose most recent book, Apocalyptic Swing, was a finalist for The Los Angeles Times Book Award. Her poems have been featured in the Washington Post, on Garrison Keillor's Poet's Almanac and in numerous journals. She writes the Sports Desk column for The Best American Poetry blog and is on the advisory board of The Rumpus' Poetry Book Club. She lives in Los Angeles where she is the Poetry Editor for The Los Angeles Review of Books and has a new adventure every day.

Heather Taylor is the Co-owner and Director of Taylor De Cordoba, a contemporary art gallery located in the Culver City Art District in Los Angeles. She contributes regularly to the Huffington Post, where she writes the column Chef Speak, featuring interviews with Angeleno chefs of-the-moment and seasonal recipes. She also writes the blog L.A. in Bloom, where she highlights the best sights, fashion trends, and tastes of Los Angeles.

null meet pune 21st July - Ajit Hatti Talks on "Attack Surface Reduction"

Here is my old backpack and what was in it. What is in my current bag is about the same, but minus a number of things and plus a computer most days. All the notes are in place finally. I'm going to have to finish tagging and noting everything later.
