making the sauce i reduced 2 cups of poaching liquid containing turmeric, nutmeg, cinnamon, vanilla and clear honey.
the poaching liquid was taken from the liquid in which the pears had cooked

hob top ok oven not working replacing after lockdown
i've visited curry's electricals. of the three possible freestanding electric cookers non were in stock and no delivery date could be given. with the way things are the cooker remains on hold for the forseeable future. let's just say it's the least of any of the current problems. it's almost rude on my part to even think of it as a problem more something to look forward to ...
ps i'm not recommending any of these cookery adventures. they suit my personal taste. photographing to encourage myself to eat more healthily ...

La Bore
One of around 60 models of Gromit, the famous dog from Aardman Animations that have been placed around Bristol and decorated by local and international artists. The event is intended to raise money for Wallis and Gromit's Grand Appeal organised by the Bristol Children's Hospital Charity. This Gromit was called Patch, designed by Emily Golden, sponsored by Nuffield Health Bristol Hospital and located on Clifton Hill.

Location:
Outside Green's Health and Fitness centre (Now ‘Nuffield Health Fitness & Wellbeing’), facing Cemetery Road on the site of the former Dormer drill factory.
Description:
A rectangular panel of 4 cm thick mild steel which is cut to show drilled holes, patterns for drill bits and also contains sections of cast drill bits in relief.
The sculpture is broadly rectangular with a triangulated top edge. It stands 250cms high by 359cms wide, on a brick plinth.

Green's Health and Fitness centre
Comment:
The site was previously occupied by Sheffield Twist Drill and Steel Company which became SKF and Dormer Tools (Sheffield) Ltd. In 1975 and then Dormer Tools in the early 1990's. In the late 90s the company moved to Holbrook leaving the site to new development.
Commissioned by Green's Health and Fitness Club under the guidelines of Sheffield's percent for art policy. It was sugggested that a piece of sculpture be made to mark the site's former history. The artist was recommended by the Public Art Officer.
While the sculpture was installed in 2000, Green's opened to the public in February 2001. There was no formal unveiling ceremony.

Managed to get my first visit to see an actual physiotherapist rather than speaking to somebody over the phone. Maybe I will make some progress now and start to recover....only five weeks to go until Reading Half-Marathon. Not sure I will get fit in time :-(
