This picture features two bharatnatyam dancers from Chicago - Maya Chandran and Sindhu Balasubramaniam. Disciples of Smt.Sushmita Arunkumar from the Nrityanjali school of Dance. Have been composing this pic in my mind for like 2 months now and it did turn out the way i had expected :)
There was never a dull moment and I think it was so because of the meticulous planning and execution of the flow of the event. The two anchors gave a running commentary to connect the concept themed "Jindagi ke funde, Bollywood style"

28 March, 2010 marked the last night of Swami Ganapathi's most recent visit and a multi-cultural performance was held in his honour at the Dattatreya Ashram. Nrityanjali Theatre and Prem Jyoti Dance Academy was once again there to perform.

The Bengali Association of South Florida celebrated this year's Durga Puja with a day long program comprising of puja, cultural show by local Bengalis, a Bollywood based energetic dance program by Nrityanjali School and a late evening, foot tapping, local Bangla band performance playing to an enthusiastic crowd of hundreds. Plus there was food, food, food and more food.

Bhaona was a traditional form of entertainment with a religious and social message and usually based on mythological stories. Ankia Bhaona devised by Mahapurush Srimanta Sankardev was a tool to bring in social, cultural and religious reforms.. Traditionally Ankia Bhaona was intended to be viewed by common folk in medieval Assam, majority of who were expected to be illiterate. Thus the narrator or the Sutradhar presents an explanation at every succeeding stage of the drama making it easier for the people to understand the story.

Zebar School believes that children should ‘Stay Positive, Patient and Productive’ during this phase. In an attempt to keep them occupied and showcase their dancing talents, ‘Nrityanjali’ was launched. The event garnered positive appreciation from parents and students as well. The virtual event 'Nrityanjali' was a unique experience for our student community who bonded with their teachers discussed folk dances of India and prepared their dances representing each state of our country.
