the place i was visiting doctors in 80's. dentist drills were at least twice faster than those usual bass specimens in school, but still no anesthetics, root canal cleaning was the favorite among all age and national groups, but the drill was most feared just because it was inevitable and it's sound pierced through the doors in waiting area even when no one was screaming inside.
Shot wide-open. This sculpture was made in the 1970s by Eleni O'Hara. I have revisited it many times, photographically. Today I used a tele-lens for a portrait-like close-up. The head is actually just about 6cm in height. Shooting wide-open and at close range comes at a price, loss of DOF, but, on the other hand, one can isolate the object from its background (a garden) and focus on what might be the important stuff.
