This girl is nine, she had three books for Scott to sign, and they were all hers! She has already created a character.
I think I recall that she said her name was "Abbie." I could well be wrong about the name and spelling. (That I remembered so many names is a feat--I am lousy with names, but working on improving. Scott who? Ooops.)

Nine Mile Canyon is actually more like 29 miles long - after traveling 21 miles off the highway to the entrance. It is a canyon that has well preserved Petroglyphs. When we got to the first site we had a hard time finding the petroglyphs, but once we knew what were looking for, they were easier to find. The scenery throughout the canyon was fascinating. The recently paved road was a gift as we drove the winding turns. We later learned the was built through an agreement between the state and a gas company that got rights to look for natural gas in the area. We saw a few oil tankers driving past us. There were numerous “dips” (some we guessed as deep as 6 or 8 feet) that allow the water washing from the cliffs to cross over the road rather than running down. Dry when we were there, but we expect the road must be impassible during/after significant rainfall.
