Nine Grey Herons. These herons (Ardea cinerea) gather noisily in the same tree every day for to see what lunch pickings the water hole may offer.

On the ninth day before Christmas, Muninn tried some English Country dancing. I don't know what dance the Lady was teaching him, but if you're familiar with English Country dancing, you'll see that the first verse is doubles, the second verse is siding, and the third verse is arming. The choruses, as usual, are incomprehensible.

I had to knit as many as possible in about 4 days so thick yarns - they didn't make it to the TV screen - I think they were gifted to the crew

This is the Diamond Nine formation, and the manoeuvre they are performing is called 'Diamond Chicane'.
We were given a 'Rolling' display due to the level of the cloud base, which was probably only a tiny bit lower than the minimum for 'Full' display. Such a shame. But the combination of interesting clouds and the polarising filter on my lens (main idea is to bring the aircraft more 'out' against the sky, especially in bright sunshine) I got some interesting results with some of the displays during the day. And with some others just plain nice results.
But at least with the Red Arrows this time, we got a display with all nine pilots and aircraft. And that's what really mattered. (And the fact that it did not rain at all during the day.) :-)
