THEME: New Year Resolutions/Intentions for the New Year
I've just come back from a 3 month trip which took me to France, Spain, Morocco, the Czech Republic, Italy, Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, Sicily, Greece and Malta. I had a life-long dream to see all 7 continents, and now I can check that off.
The satisfaction of having a goal that is only accomplished through years of perseverance and sacrifice is like nothing else. It just fuels your self-esteem and makes you feel like anything is possible.
Yes, I was 'lucky' to some degree - my employers have always been willing to give me the time off - but I have also been prepared to leave a job if they hadn't. Asking for 3 months off in today's tough economic times might have seemed crazy to some, and sometimes there are a 100 excellent reasons to not do something and yet....it's the heart that decides. I try to listen to it and just trust things will work out.
What are your goals for 2011 and beyond? What are mine? It's 2 hours to midnight, and I'm thinking about my next challenge - one big enough that I can hardly hold it in my grasp. One that will get my heart beating fast.

Hello 2012! I want this year to be about learning (lets try and make it fun learning, this learning through tough times sucks), I know you may have other plans for me, but that is my silly human goal.
I would like to learn...
*to grow MORE food, save seeds, do what people used to do 100 years ago. In fact I might become part of a food swap, I make soap, I can swap for home made sauces, pickled foods, eggs, etc.
*I want to learn how to knit and be able to make things instead of my blue blobby thing growing in a bag :)
*I want to possibly set up a dark room in my house. We have a bathroom that is not being used at all.
*I want to ride the bus (I never really learned the schedule, it intimidates me so)
*I will be welcoming my grand-nephew to the world which will be exciting
*I want to be bold in this year, try new things, be more confident, just go for it.
*I would love to be able to play a song on my grandfathers old harmonica
*I would LOVE to have the art room set up, a place where we can be creative and create.
*I want to have the back patio cleaned up so we can host a BBQ or something. I want to have a cleaner house and the energy to do it.
*I would love to learn how to sew. That would be awesome, I could make my own clothes.
*finish up the 100 strangers project. Also I want to try out a 52 week project too, after the 365 of 2010 I have felt like I was in a slump. I need weekly goals.
I know that is quite a lot 2012, but I think if we work really hard together we can do it. I can do it.
