After some challenging storm surfing, I came in and took a few shots of the wild ocean surf... you can see another surfer friend of mine (a guy this time... see first shot before) at the bottom left takeoff point, riding a wave, a bit cautiously as this was one was so choppy and the wild surf is starting to flatten out a bit .... awesome fun, workout and being one-with-nature!

Creative work on a sunset shot that I wasn't too happy with.

and I have just discovered 'instagram' - been on there for a while however I always stuck my nose up at it - partly because I never knew how to upload my shots on computer to instagram app (duh !! ) and partly as I was a bit precious as I love to see photos on a BIG screen(that could be age ;)) and partly because , being Irish, I could not ramble on chatting about stuff like I do on here and last because it was all a bit square ! - but now I have jumped on board and so found all these shots whilst uploading like this one - taken on my cloud chasing dawn/sunrise morning about this time last year - guess what my name is on instagram - yeah you guessed it @rosiebondi ! so if you're on there , come say hi and we can follow each other on the Big and the Little screen - #nevertoolate ;)

I love when the end of the day gives these beautiful moments....It is never too late for a smile that will warm another´s heart...

You must be the change you wish to see in the world, are you?

Where are you?

“What we have to remember we can still do anything. We can change our minds. We can start over. - Marina Keegan I will not say that life (or my life) is perfect, it’s not. And it’s much more sometimes than social media can show (or I would want to share) but then I walk into the Strand & pick up a book by a young girl Marina Keegan (1989-2012), and all of the sudden life doesn’t feel as hard & problems do not feel unsolvable. ❤️

...for one more sunset ride...

Take this sinking boat and point it home

We've still got time

Raise your hopeful voice you have a choice

You'll make it now

Falling slowly, eyes that know me

And I can't go back

Moods that take me and erase me

And I'm painted black

You have suffered enough

And warred with yourself

It's time that you won

The world we knew won't come back. The time we've lost; can't get back. The life we had won't be ours again.

today, i took my science exam. And the two immature beings supposedly human that reside next to me in that class wouldnt shut the f*ck up. They were making farting *yes* noises all throughout the exam. Come now children, how old are we again? Five? umm... no. The worst part is, our teacher just laughed and ignored them. Really? wow.

FLICKR I'VE CHANGED MY NAME! Hello, I'm Holly, or Skye, or either, really. Whatever you've always known me as. Just wanted to clear up some confusion :) Hope its alright with everyone.

thank you, daddy dearest for letting me borrow your shirt :)

(written 6 years ago) 22 years ago today marked the first time i treated my eyes to my beautiful v... for me it was love at first sight... it was at a wedding rehearsal.... we were both in the wedding... we then danced the night away the next night after the wedding... here's how i described it in a letter to v written a couple of months after we first met... (v is so wonderful... she saved every letter i ever wrote her... it is quite a stack)...

"over the past few years, i was convinced that i had become incredibly unattractive to women in general.... i considered making a change... i considered becoming a writer... a businessman (applied for my MBA and was accepted at Stanford and MIT), a bum, a traveler (Tibet no less), an astronaut (i applied to nasa), an MD, who knows? After several months of basic seclusion in East Austin, I went to a wedding of a childhood friend. I only attended because i felt a sense of duty since i was asked to be a groomsman. during the rehearsal, one of the bridesmaids caught my eye, and to my surprise I seemed to have caught her's too!! At the following dinner, she seemed to go out of her way to talk to me. At that point, any woman would have to make an effort to engage me in conversation. i asked the bride and groom for "the story" of the lovely lady... i was quickly told that she was "figured to be fixed up" with the best man... oh well. later that night we spoke some more, and i barely perceived something in her eyes... something i hadn't seen in years... the next day at and after the wedding, i couldn't take my eyes off of her, and again to my surprise she seemed to keep her eyes on me... then late in the night during a clumsy slow dance, i saw that light in her eyes... the light i needed to feel again. She was beautiful as i held her in my arms tripping over my feet to the slow rhythm. i quickly asked for her phone number... i had to see her again... i had to see those eyes again... sometimes one must keep the faith, i had lost it... and she returned it to me... thank you!"

later i found out that the woman (penny.. had to be close to 40 yrs old at the time) who came with v to the wedding... told v immediately after seeing v and i together that i'd be the man that v would fall in love with and marry...

but one of the things i remember quite vividly were the dresses for the bridesmaids... they looked like prom dresses... when v and i were dancing one of her prom dress straps broke and hung off one of her shoulders... her left shoulder... it is the single sexiest image i can ever recall... ever... oh for a camera then...

So stay focused on your goals and what makes you happy.

If you miss the train I'm on, you will know that I am gone.

52 Weeks Project

One week prior to this selfportrait the idea was born to take a few of these selfies along the Singelgracht...

Location: Mauritskade in between the Muiderpoortbrug (in the distance) and Oude Koekjesbrug (Korte 's-Gravensandestraat)

Coordinates: 52°36'19" N 4°91'78" E

Reason: A combination with a test drive with my renovated bicycle and a visit of an installation of Streetart Frankey in the Borgerstraat in West.

Singelgracht: The Singelgracht is the waterway that borders the entire Amsterdam Center and flows along the Nassaukade, Stadhouderskade and Mauritskade. Formerly the canal and the ramparts on the city side formed the outer defenses of the city.

The name is related to the Dutch word omsingelen, "to surround", and comes ultimately from Latin cingulum, meaning "belt". Other Dutch towns also have ring-shaped canals named Singel.

The Singelgracht is the waterway that borders the entire Amsterdam Center and flows along the Nassaukade, Stadhouderskade and Mauritskade.

A sub project of "52-Weeks" is take more selfportraits along the Singelgracht. Find them all here.

Mauristkade: The Mauritskade runs parallel to the Amsterdam Singelgracht between the Amstel and the Zeeburgerdijk in Amsterdam East. The street is part of a series of three quays: the Mauritskade, the Stadhouderskade and the Nassaukade, which form the outer ring along the banks of the Singelgracht after the S100. Its length is 1.7 kilometers.

The Mauritskade was named in 1880 after Maurits van Oranje (1567-1625), Stadtholder of Holland and Zeeland. The quay was previously designated Buitensingel.

The main streets crossed by Mauritskade are: Wibautstraat, 's-Gravesandestraat, Linnaeusstraat, Dapperstraat and Pontanusstraat.

The Royal Tropical Institute is located at the roundabout at the intersection with Linnaeusstraat.

Tram line 9 from 1903-2018 ran between Alexanderplein and Linnaeusstraat and Line 14 was added in 1986. In 1901 the second electric tram line in Amsterdam ran between Linnaeusstraat and Zeeburgerdijk. That was line 6 to the Veelaan. Later other tram lines came here. This was line 10 since 1940. Lines 6 and 7 have also operated here since the 1980s. Since line 10 started running in 2004 via Sarphatistraat to Czaar Peterstraat and the Eastern Docklands, line 14 has taken over this route. Line 9 was replaced by line 19 on July 22, 2018.

The Weesperpoort station used to be located along the Mauritskade. The Beiersch-Bierbrouwerij De Amstel, Amstel's first brewery, stood at Mauritskade 14-19 from the 1970s onwards for almost a hundred years. The brewery quickly became a formidable competitor against which other breweries could barely compete. [ Wikipedia 2020 ]

old stock.

today is sooooooo HOT.

i like how i am no where to be found by anyone but my family and boyfriend at the moment. That's how low-key I am and sometimes, i enjoy hiding. :D I am currently on the verge of wanting to live the life without the influences outside, change my life and show-up when everything's at the right place, at the right time. So for now, i'm leaving all the fuzz behind and make the most of what i have, where i am, and who i am this summer. :))

... nunca es tarde...

Like many around my age, growing up in the UK, but loving American Pop Culture and in particular, their romantic and exotic 'Road Song's': "Route 66", "24 Hours From Tulsa", "Willin'", "Carolina In My Mind" etc, I was disappointed there was no British equivalent, no "Rollin' into Bradford", no "Groovin' Down To Crouch End" until 1978 and Tom Robinson kind of redressed the balance with "2,4,6,8 Motorway".

"Never too late..." Indeed.
