I do not care if you feel differently than I do. I believe in freedom of speech, and thought. My opinion is not necessarily the most accurate one. As anyone who follows my stream knows, this is far from my normal image and description. I feel this is important enough an issue that I am highly interested in knowing what you think. Thank you!

I apologize in advance if the wording in my post is offensive (some of it may be). I am extremely angry with this entire farce. All opinions in this are just that my opinion (or that of the quoted source). Disclaimer is for sue happy assholes!! :) Any errors in my data are mine and mine alone ( or the quoted source).

I logged in to Yahoo tonight to find an article from the Associated Press relaying information released by the CDC (Center for Disease Control) which nearly triples the previous totals for death and illness associated with the H1N1 virus (commonly called swine flu). What a load of steaming bullshit!!!! This is an obvious scare tactic aimed at getting you to be afraid enough to go get stuck with their genocidal cocktail, err I mean vaccine. I followed up on this by reviewing the actual "study" which was a phone poll given to 1006 people. From this meager selection a number of nearly 4,000 deaths, and 22 million ill has been estimated. Who do they think they're fucking kidding?? Obviously you!

People across the country have been refusing to take the vaccine for this (most likely) man-made virus. I say man-made, as H1N1 is a combination of bird, pig, and human flu DNAs. I'm no scientist but I don't think this sounds even remotely natural. In fact, to me it sounds very much like a genetically manipulated virus. Hmm, I wonder if a large pharmacutical corporation, say one that makes insane amounts of money selling drugs and vaccines, would have the facilities necessary to do this? Makes one think.

Why are people refusing to take this "miracle" cure? Mostly, I've heard the word untested being used as the reason. The vaccine was tested for a total of seven days. Yet according to world renowned neurologist Dr. Russell Blaylock, in a video interview that I watched, it is commonly known within the non-pharmacutically paid scientific community that seizures may occur from vaccinations that may not begin for up to 6 months from the injection. Another common reason is Thimerosal. The mercury laced preservative used in many vaccines as a preservative. Every mother in the educated world knows not to let their children play with mercury, as it is readily absorbed into the body, causes neurological side effects, and once in NEVER leaves your system.

Yet the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) approved this shit for you, and especially your kids (target group), and oh yeah, pregnant women (target group), start 'em young folks. Why would the government agencies concerned with health and the protection of consumers of the health industry approve injections for us that may contain up to 100 times the amount of MERCURY allowable in drinking water? Hmm, why indeed? Could it possibly have anything to do with the staggering amounts of $$$$ to be made? Could the huge flux of pharmacutical lobby dollars in Washington D.C. have any affect on this deciscion? Duhhh!!!! Of course it does. The FDA says no plant based cures or derivitives are effective in fighting disease. They are not classifiable as drugs, and are considered inert in the human body. Luckily for British sailors of old (Limeys) no one had told them this information. So, sucking on limes, lemons or oranges, thereby ingesting vitamin C cured their scurvy. Why would the FDA say that no plant based medicine could be effective? Could it be that they can't make HUGE sums of money from holistic cures, and natural treatments? Not much profit in a scurvy cure that grows on trees folks.

Hey America, and anyone else in the "free" world wake the fuck up! You and your children are being poisoned for profit. And by the way, what a great means of population control. If the vaccine doesn't kill you outright, which it may, you also could be left sterilized or with a terrible neurological disorder (ie Autism, Guillain-Barre Syndrome, etc., etc., etc....) But, don't just take my word for it, do some research. The information is not even hard to find. Stop believing the controlled and regulated syndicated news agencies lies. Take your ass off the couch, turn off Survivor or whatever "reality" (LOL) show you are watching and look around. Shit ain't right!

This image was in no way attempting to mock this man's condition. He was kind enough to allow me to photograph and publish his image and, for this, I am thankful and respectful.

Wondering what a bear's roar looks like? Surprisingly, much different from what you might expect. There's a lot more brown in the actual vision than I've used in this piece, but the lion (which I'll upload later) is a bit more accurately portrayed.

This was inspired by my recent trip to the Winston Wildlife Safari in Oregon, where I watched two captive brown bears wrestling in their enclosure. I roared out the window at one of them, and instantly, they both looked up. A second later, one of them roared back. I was so stoked! I think my boyfriend was slightly unnerved that I was talking to bears, and my mom was prepared to roll up the window in the event that I accidentally invited them home with us.

In this work, I've used a combination of pen-and-ink drawing and encaustic wax. Most of the wavy affect was accomplished by use of a blow torch. Dark streaks in the lighter purple area are created by scraping away a thin layer of wax to expose what's underneath. All the splatter paint is done by slapping two paint brushes together, one which is loaded in hot wax. I've been stung by the heat many times, but only truely burned once. The other girl who shares the encaustic supplies with me (also an amazing artist!), thinks it's funny that I say 'OW!' and then laugh every time the wax splatters onto my arms. Aside from the pain, ENCAUSTIC IS SO MUCH FUN!

Expect to see a lot more of these coming soon. I've got a lion, and I plan to do a wolf and a peacock next. I'm also still taking commissions and always love a challenge, so please feel free to contact me with requests or questions!

Keep researching folks. Don't take my opinion or anyone else's for that matter, until you've seen for yourselves. Form your own opinions based on real information, not on hyped and sensationalized media bent on scaring you into taking an untested, and quite possibly deadly vaccination. The mainstream news media stories are only going to get worse as flu season nears an end and the new vaccines are outdated. They have to get you to take the jab now. Because once the "swine" flu fizzles out they won't be able to recoup any more of the money they have invested.

Keep safe my friends, and blessings to all.

Today President Barack Obama lifted the ban on federal funding of stem cell research. See article by AP writer Philip Elliot news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090309/ap_on_go_pr_wh/obama_stem_cells

This opens the possibility of greater opportunity for scientists in the medical community to find cures for such maladies as Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, diabetes, spinal chord injuries and a host of other health issues currently considered to be chronic conditions. It gives me the hope that one day I and people like me, or at least a younger generation, will not need to take potentially dangerous pills, like those pictured above in my hand, to keep our symptoms under control.

As a Parkinson’s sufferer myself and the son and grandson of Alzheimer’s sufferers I commend Mr. Obama for making this important and courageous decision which has the potential to benefit millions of people across the United States and throughout the world.

While I am aware that money is not an abundant commodity in these troubled economic times I would encourage all who have even a dollar or two to spare for a good cause to make a contribution no matter how great or how small to one of the following organizations or to another of your choice which is working toward the betterment of life for mankind.

Today I finished the necessary connections to hook up a clothes dryer. I've always enjoyed working with my hands and using tools, but these days it is more of a problem. Having a neurological disorder that affects my fine motor control slows things down.

For the most part my hands feel normal until I attempt activities like starting threads on screws and fittings, twisting a wrench or screwdriver, or even using a pencil. The Parkinson's affects my right side more than my left so sometimes I find I have to do things with my left hand which I do instinctively with my right which is my lead hand.

Since I replaced an electric dryer with a gas dryer I had to tee off the supply pipe to my furnace and add the connection and shutoff valve for the dryer, drill a hole through a wall and connect the supply tube. Of course I had to shut off the gas while doing this which in turn necessitated relighting the pilots on the furnace and water heater.

Although I am slower at tasks like these than I was in the past I remain greatful that I can accomplish them at all. I don't have to look far to find people with much more serious problems than mine.

Staying as active as possible and completing chores of this sort not only saves on repair bills, but is also good therapy and helps me maintain a positive mental attitude.

The following is from our second last lecture for physiology. The disorder is called Synaesthesia, however in this branch 'object personality', the patient views things/numbers etc. w/ certain characteristics. In this example, the person is describing the personality of the number 3 as they see it;

“Three is male; definitely male. Three is such a jerk! He only thinks of himself. He does not care about any other numbers or anything. All he wants is to better himself and he’ll use any sneaky, underhanded means necessary. But he’s also pretty young; he doesn’t understand anything and he doesn’t have very much power, as far as social status is concerned. So, he tries to hang out with Eight (who’s also a bad number) just so that he can feel better about himself. But really, none of the numbers can stand him. He’s a real jerk. He’ll pretend as though he’s your friend, but then he’ll manipulate you and stab you in the back if he feels he can gain something from it. Then he’ll never speak to you again. If Three had parents, even his parents would hate him.”

-- TE (2006)

Do you see it?

heheh, Ok ... so my first exam is on the 29th and I have to start reviewing. Either i will be taking a lot of breaks in between and there will be a lot of random uploads, as it happens every exam period. Or there will be nothing. Just wanted to share the number 3 with u guys.

Lately I've been feeling like a car whose warranty just expired. I have quite a few miles left in me, but it takes a lot of tinkering to keep me going.

The image is a composite of the heading from the “Treatment For Parkinson’s” website ( www.treatmentforparkinsons.info )and 10 images with comments belonging to me that were posted without my permission.

While as a Parkinson’s patient myself I support their cause, as a visual artist I also believe firmly in ethical use of intellectual property. The fact that an entity is a non-profit organization supporting a worthy charitable cause does not give it the right to steal the work of creative people.

The above mentioned website stole these images from my Flickr photostream even though they all have a copyright mark on them, and on each of the pages where they are posted it is clearly stated “Copyright All rights reserved” in the information accompanying each one.

While the website does contain much valuable information and many links to sites with further resources for Parkinson’s Disease patients I have been unable to find any information on the site regarding the organization or individual posting the site or any “contact us” link. The fact that no one seems interested in taking credit for this site makes me question its legitimacy.

By performing an online search I have determined the owner of the URL is Tony Loosle of Province, Utah. Rest assured I will attempt to contact Mr. Loosle regarding the theft of my intellectual property. If anyone seeing this post has further information regarding the organization or individuals responsible for the “Treatment For Parkinson’s” website, I would appreciate your sharing it with me.

To all those of you generous individuals who post your images here for the entertainment and enlightenment of the rest of us Flickrites be aware that although posting a copyright notice and disabling the “all sizes” button may give you some protection it is still possible for unscrupulous people to take your images . I found this incident by Googling my own name and recommend that others who are concerned about their intellectual property rights do the same from time to time.

To other non-profit organizations who are interested in using my images, if you make a request and appear to be legitimate, in all probability I will be generous in allowing you to use them.

An invaluable neurological guide for primary care physicians

Neurology for General Practitioners is written specifically for general practitioners (GPs) – typically the first point of contact for patients suffering neurological conditions.

Written by neurologist and academic, Ron Beran, Neurology for General Practitioners assists in the diagnosis of neurological disorders such as epilepsy, stroke and Parkinson’s disease. It also addresses the majority of common disorders encountered in general practice.

As well as being an excellent diagnostic resource, Neurology for General Practitioners will prove a helpful tool for doctors looking to refer patients for consultant opinion and manage ongoing complications at a primary care level.

Chapters in this compact guide are structured around clinical management – including history, examination, investigation and treatment – and backed by clinical examples and explanations.

As general practitioners are usually the first to see the early signs and symptoms of neurological disorders, this clinical practice handbook will be of enormous benefit to primary health care physicians, family physicians, rural doctors and isolated practitioners alike. This must-have medical text is also ideal for neurology trainees.

Miro is still walking around like a drunken sailor but I think she's on the road to feeling better. I hope so because trying to give her medication is nearly impossible. She's a bad patient. Miro had a setback last night (her eyes started jetting around again) but by this morning it had stopped. The symptoms of vestibular disease are pretty scary but now that I'm used to her swaggering around, my new worry is that she'll fall off the furniture and break a leg or crack a rib. Miro has always been a jumper and I can't keep her from jumping onto the furniture... and, living in a studio, there's no safe space to keep her. Due to the disease, she loses her balance at the drop of a hat, and she simply falls over.

I'm convinced that this condition set on due to stress surrounding the loss of our beloved Sushi. It's been a very tough week but we're trying to focus on the love and the good times. Here's to a speedy recovery for my Miro.

Overview

Acute flaccid myelitis (AFM) is a rare but serious condition that affects the nervous system, particularly the spinal cord. It is a type of neurological disorder that causes weakness and paralysis in one or more limbs, typically in children.

AFM was first recognized in the United States in 2014 and has since been reported in other countries as well. The cause of AFM is not yet fully understood, but it is thought to be related to viral infections, including enteroviruses and West Nile virus.

The symptoms of AFM typically include sudden onset of limb weakness or paralysis, along with other symptoms such as fever, headache, neck pain, and difficulty swallowing or speaking. These symptoms can progress rapidly and can be life-threatening in severe cases.

Diagnosis of AFM is based on a combination of clinical symptoms and diagnostic tests such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the brain and spinal cord, and testing for viral infections. Treatment for AFM is mainly supportive and includes physical therapy, rehabilitation, and other therapies to manage symptoms.

Prevention of AFM is focused on measures to prevent viral infections, including good hygiene practices such as washing hands frequently and avoiding close contact with people who are sick. Vaccines are available for some viral infections that are associated with AFM, such as the poliovirus vaccine. However, there is currently no specific vaccine or treatment for AFM itself.

My mom had showed me some weird shaped lemons from someones backyard that she stole. Way to go momma! She told me it looked weird and knowing me she knew that I would be all over it. I took it, held it on top my fingertips and slowly rotating it around as if i was taken by its resemblance to the folds on a brain. I looked to see that there was actually a whole bag. Looking for the best shape and best mental image of a brain, I had picked the perfect one.

I was babysitting at the time but it didn't stop me from grabbing a pen to see if the quick sketches would actually help me visualize if it would be possible or not. since the lemon had a waxy coat i Erase the pen marks easily with a napkin when making a mistake. Once I started I became hesitant of how the folds on a brain actually formed. So l just went with it always keeping a mental image in my head the whole way through. Once I was satisfied with half of the lemon I knew to incorporate a divide between left and right hemisphere of the brain. And so i took the back pen and indented a little harder on the divide between the two sides. Once I established the divide I continued the other side but made sure to flip it so my right hand was always with the pen drawing. When it was done I made sure not to look at a lemon the same ever again.

"Frank" died today. He was a Royal (Ball) python (Python regius). He hatched in my home on August 1, 1997. He lived in the office of a biologist friend at an environmental consulting company for a few years. My friend named him "Frank" after me. When my friend moved out of state in 2003 "Frank" came back to live with me. He's been here ever since. About six months ago he started displaying signs of a neurological disorder. He was a beautiful gentle snake and I'm sorry to lose him. He was relatively young for a ball python. Python regius have lived in excess of 40 years. I still care for his parents who probably are close to 30 years old. Royal pythons rarely exceed four feet in length and are native to the savannah lands of west Africa. Microglia are specialised macrophages that restrain the accumulation of ß-amyloid (plaques in orange). On the other side, once activated, they can have harmful influences in Alzheimer's disease, segregating inflammatory factors and mediating the engulfment of synapses.
