The third edition of the Social Good Summit Geneva, concluded at the Credit Suisse Forum in Geneva, brought together 24 best-in-class emerging-markets entrepreneurs pitching scale-ready products and services to impact investors, addressing 12 out of 17 of the Sustainable Development Goals. This year’s Summit, created by UNDP Geneva, and held alongside the World Investment Forum, featured pitches on Access to Health and Education, Responsible Consumption and Production, Agritech and Fintech.

These photographs show a network of school greenhouses on the island of Prince of Wales in Alaska. These greenhouses are integrated into school curricula, bringing to life the common core with experiential learning opportunities. Students, teachers and community members help run the greenhouses that utilize an aquaponics system paired with a biomass wood boiler system. Greens are used in the school lunch program, sold to restaurants and local shops and sold directly to community members providing a fresh and more reliable alternative to barging produce in to this remote island.

Students are involved in every process, from selecting what to grow, learning how to run the systems, stoking the biomass wood boilers that heat the schools and greenhouses, selling and marketing the produce etc.

Last gathering before Alex returns to university. So we went to Ash's networked the laptops and played scary games and zombie games. I headed there straight after work so we could have a good 4 odd hours as alex had to be back home before 5.
