Macro Mondays

This is the needle on my sewing machine (that's why its upside down) with thread running through it.

Well for the Macro Monday's theme this week "Needle & Thread" I decided to do something fun with a fruit.

Having a split banana knocking around I thought it would be great fun to sew up the split using some thick thread and a big needle.

“A single act of kindness throws out roots in all directions, and the roots spring up and make new trees.” – Amelia Earhart

I thought this looked as though it says yes. In fact it is from a very old cornflake packet. My mother-in-law used to wrap her threads round home made spools, a lot were from cereal packs. The two reels of thread in front of the 'yes' are from the box where she stored her threads. The box, also in the image is an old sweetie box. The vintage wooden spools are a more recent acquisition.

Yes or no is the question I am asking myself today. I have been wondering whether to attempt another 365. One of my little grandson's favourite sayings is 'that's crazy' and he would be right! I just wonder if it would help my mojo...it certainly won't do much for my sanity. I guess I have 24 hours to make my mind up.

Wishing you all a very Happy and Healthy New Year.

Went into the basket that contains all sorts of bits and pieces that I think might be useful for a photograph, but invariable are not. However, there was a sparkling piece of ribbon that had been used to wrap a present. Of course, it was far too wide to go through an eye except one for a Giant's needle!

Out came the scissors and I cut a thin strip which I threaded through this darning needle - that was fun because the strip began to unravel, most went through but not all.

The needle was stuck in a polystyrene block to hold it steady and lit with a couple of lights, nothing special. To add a little colour I waved a piece of red ribbon in the background.

Mi trabajo oculto es coser flores, poner a cada margarita sus pétalos, a cada rosa sus hojas.. en primavera no tengo descanso, todos los campos llenos de margaritas, amapolas..

No, I'm not doing any stitching because I couldn't!! Just a quick hunt around for something to shoot before I get on the golf course, shortly!!

DISTRACTION IS NOT ALLOWED ....

Today's theme of the "Macro Mondays" group is "Needle and Thread" and my first concern was not the theme itself .... after all the two objects are of a disarming banality but how to make the original and captivating image.

After a few attempts I tried to sew an orange wedge to see how it could make the color effect. Looking at the result, I said to myself, not without a sardonic smile "If the surgeons also sewed in an open heart operation, we would stay fresh !!!"

Here is the lightning strike, everything seemed convincing and plausible, I also found a valid reason to propose a non-stop idea !!!!

What do you think ????

the whole is not bigger than 3 cm. The small needles had only a small eyelet and it was very difficult to pull the thread through.
