These needles are in a tapestry needle case made for me by a friend over 40 years ago. It doesn't seem to get much use any more.

Was stumped for this weeks challenge until I suddenly thought of this little sewing kit, about 2inches wide, that we got whilst at our Bangkok Hotel, the Bel-Aire, years ago!
I had a devil of a job threading that yarn through the minuscule eye in the needle!
Wicking needle and candle wick used in making candles. The wick has to be squashed to get it through the needle eye and is usually dipped in wax beforehand as this produces a better flame for a lit candle
For #MacroMondays and this week's theme #SewingNotions
Happy Macro Monday!

Macro Mondays - Needle and Thread
Thank you in advance for stopping by and sharing a comment. I really appreciate them.
This is a needle made of bone like those the Vikings used to make socks. I bought it in Oslo in 2017 and since then have been trying, on and off, to make sense of the youtube tutorials - the problem being that all of them show a different way of starting off, and all of them are incomprehensible when you are battling with needle, yarn, thumb and loops. Anyway, just for Macro Mondays, I persevered until I finally understood how to do the "cast on" row of the Oslo stitch. Now I have to work out how to do the rest of it. Crochet is so much easier. I can't get all the needle into the frame as it is four and a half inches long. Here you see the top two and three quarter inches of it.
Just a quick one today and I thought of the old saying "A stitch in time saves nine" and I thought I would try to use it somehow.
Not much colour here so a simple black and white conversion seemed the way to go.
