Oh no, these pirates are dead crazy on electronics and want to replace that monoscope(?) (how do you call that eyepiece) with radars.. hehehe......

Es ging leider nur durch den Zaun zu fotografieren und deshalb auch nicht perfekt komplett drauf
I love the shape of large birds in flight, which is why the Klingon Bird of Prey is one of my favourite sci-fi warships. The larger the bird the more grace they have in the sky, able to soar as opposed to having to flap like mad to stay in flight. This Cormorant I caught just after taking off from a harbour post in Travemünde, North Germany.

The Nimrod carried two navigators, one for routing and a tactical navigator who got them into position for battle area and weapons decisions. The Nimrod did carry nuclear armed torpedo's!
Patch awarded to a member of the British RAF in WWII. A Navigator was responsible for keeping the aircraft on course at all times. It required long periods of intense concentration for virtually the whole flight, which could be many hours.

An interesting water feature/sculpture known as 'The Navigators' at Hay's Galleria, a mixed use development on the south bank of the River Thames in Southwark.
This chap seemed to be motoring along completely by himself. That seems like a tough gig, especially at the locks.

On the Belem shore of the Tagus River in Lisboa, this vast sculpture was built, the Padrão dos Descobrimentos, or Monument to Discoveries. The sides display the effigies of the great explorers of Portuguese history, stretching back from Vasco de Gama on one side, and Henrique the Explorer on the other.
