NATIONAL PUPPY DAY
Observed each year on March 23rd is National Puppy Day. National Puppy Day will be celebrated on the Friday or Monday closest to March 23rd if that day falls on a weekend.
This day was created to celebrate the magic and unconditional love that puppies bring to our lives. National Puppy Day is also a day to bring awareness to the need for care of and homes for orphaned pups as well as to educate people about the horrors of puppy mills across the country.
This month came roaring in for our family when sweet Dennis came to live with us. Through the Pacific Assistance Dogs Society (PADS), Dennis is training to be an assistance dog for someone with a physical disability or who is deaf or hard-of-hearing. We’ll give him lots of love and basic training for 1½ years, and then he’ll go on to advanced training, before going to work with his client. He’s such a very good boy and is so quick to learn…it’s amazing. We’re all very much in love with him already. It will be hard to say goodbye, but I know we’ll all be very proud when he goes off to do good work with someone who will truly appreciate him.
I'll try not to overwhelm you all with too many cute puppy photos!

It's National Puppy Day! To celebrate, here's another picture of Armie & Zena, 12-week-old Weimaraner puppies, who came to the studio for a photo shoot..
Today is National Puppy Day! so here we have Evie and Olive as little pups (Olive's still little lol). Too cute :)
This little Scotty just loved her from the second she walked in the gate. At first she was shy and refused his advances, but he was such the gentleman and just tried and tried to make friends - finally they bonded! It was so adorable - he's just a pup too! And Happy National Puppy Day to all the pups and pups at heart out there! Pancake was a rescue and also now is my Medical Service dog who performs the function of helping me with disequilibrium from a ruptured brain aneurysm.

Yeah, yeah he's not a custom. But I just could not resist. Here's our Dog. Laddie the Border collie. He's about 12 years old. But still has the energy of a Puppy! :D Photo courtesy of www.flickr.com/photos/brandon_pieplow/
National Puppy Day March 23
National Puppy Day is for celebrating puppies for all the joy they bring to our lives. It is also a day for saving orphaned puppies around the world by encouraging pet adoption, a day for educating the public about the problems of puppy mills, and a day to work to get puppies out of pet stores. The day was created in 2006 by Celebrity Pet & Home Lifestyle Expert and author Colleen Paige, who has founded other holidays about pets such as National Dog Day and National Cat Day. National Puppy Day is now considered an international day as it has spread around the globe.
If you have a puppy, celebrate the day by spending extra time with them. Take them for a walk, or teach them a trick. Buy them a new toy, treat, outfit, collar, or leash. Take your puppy to a vet checkup and make sure that all their health records are up to date.
Salina goes for a run in the park, but her poor puppy Dachshund doesn't quite get the idea of what it means to 'jog.'
